391. Re: THANK YOU
Observations of a newbie & 1st time attendee..... I figured I was getting there early on Sat AM when I walked into the convention center and then found a 30 min+ or so line to get in the door.... I thought this thing is a bigger deal than I expected :)
I found the show very valuable for a new comer to the craft - both in terms of being able to put hands on specific parts and compare / l

Have the a similar question - looking at the SCLB70L for freshwater striped bass in the 15-25 lb range with 20 lb mono & live bait - curious on h

Or maybe I should say - how wide/long......
trying to determine where I can stake claim in the house as I get into the hobby, and wanted to get some advice for what is considered the "minimum" width to be working with to reasonably, and ideally efficiently, wrap/finish rods.
Assume for sake of argument, that I'd be doing primarily 7-8' rods......
I guess the minimum then i

When would a schedule of the various sessions be published?

Idea....
“Rod socks” made of “wire loom” can be made fairly inexpensively and takes maybe 10 minutes to fashion one.
I’m looking for a good way to personalize these - I’ve tried using heat press vinyl that is rated for polyester and it does “ok” on the top of the sock where the loom does it stretch out but not so well elsewhere
Tried paining it with a stencil and spray paint but it ran

Power Wrapping & drying would be the primary. Likely would do turning of handles or such on a separate lathe but would be nice to have the option in the short term

Good info - I was thinking EVA would be the cheaper route but didn’t realize cheap cork might be and lighter as well
I’ll look into options. Thanks all

Correct - will be using X-Grip type heat shrink.... and just checking what the best options for the underlying “form” would be

Planning a set of freshwater live bait rods and will be using the flocked heat shrink. I’m assuming the best option is to use an EVA grips as a “base”, or are there other preferable options?

Oh, and since it’s less than an hour down the road, I’m planning to check out the ICRBE show in a month assuming I’m not out of the country on business.... figure I can learn and see a lot first hand there

Jeff - thanks for the advice and agree on the practice makes perfect.... plan to tackle some wrapping on some old rods. Trying to understand which tools, etc really make a difference and I’ve always been a believer in buying quality tools once - the cheap route cost most in the long term :)

Thanks Spencer - is you have a power wrapper then why also get a finisher? Mainly for production jobs / teams to parallel the process?

Looking at getting into the Hobby and getting setup and trying to understand the difference in a dedicated finisher vs power wrapper
Does the finisher typically not have the variable speed control, etc?

I’m looking to try my hand at making some custom rods for striper fishing and looking for a blank recommendation. I found a few here from years back but can’t seem to find a source for those blanks now
As a reference, I currently use Ugly Stik Striper 7’ MH rods - so anything will be a step up :)
Looking for for a 7’ or maybe 7’-6” blank for live bait “trolling” (0.5-2 mph), with 15-25 l
