I was just on Rod Geeks looking at the St Croix SCV610MXF. Now I’m intrigued at the Carbon 4 blank you just mentioned.

How would the DS-6100 compare to the SJ-732? I have been reading a lot of comments regarding the SJ-732 and it sounds like it might be the best choice??? That DS-6100 is only rated up to 1/2oz. How’s that any good for dragging 5/8oz ds weights?

Do you have any experience with the SJ-703-1? I prefer an X-Fast tip for drop shotting but I don’t even know if it has a true XF tip.

Yes but which X-Ray blank? The SJ-703-1?

I’m interested in getting a couple X-Ray blanks for my drop shot preferences. I drop shot for smallmouth bass on the St. Lawrence River in semi deep water with heavy current. I mainly use 5/8oz drop shot weights but will throw 1/2oz if the conditions allow. What would you guys recommend for my application? Thank you!

Unfortunately they don’t have the MG SIC in what I need. A 9.0 (3.6) - 8 ring. I might have to look at the MN???

I don't see a SIC option for the MG tip top but I do see a concept O. What is a Concept O ring and is it as durable as a SIC?

What Fuji guides would you recommend for musky rod builds? KW, MN, LN? Also, which fuji tip top? I'm looking at building a telescopic 9' or 9'6" XXH which a Tranx 500 will be mounted. Will KW's be high enough for a Tranx 500? Thanks, Chris

Is it normal to always have an air bubble in epoxy syringes? I've been using D2 for a couple weeks now and every time I pull epoxy into the syringes there is always an air bubble. I also make sure push all the air out prior to extracting epoxy and I even hold the epoxy bottle upside down during extraction.

I'm not doing a spiral wrap but yeah I think I should be okay with the single foot guides. Thanks for all your help!

I use 30lb braid. Are you referring to 15lb mono or flouro?

I'm not sure if I should be concerned about the single foot guides or not? Again, I will only be trolling deep diving crankbaits, like reef runner 800 series lures, 100ft back and 20-25ft down. I guess if needed I could do a locking wrap on them. Not sure if that would do anything?

Not sure what a turn is but yes it will be a baitcaster. I just want to do simple guides straight down the blank. It’s an okuma low profile 354 line counter reel. 16 seems kind of big, yes or no?

I’m looking at building two walleye trolling rods and would like some help choosing guides. Both will only be used for flatlining deep diving cranks. I have 7’ and a 7’6” Rainshadow E-glass blanks but now I just need to choose guides. I have a telescoping 7’6” Okuma Dead Eye trolling rod which is set up with 14-12-10-10-8-8-8-10. Not sure the brand and I think they might be a little big for my ap

I just lightly sanded one section with 800 grit. Smoothened it out but it turned a white color. How do I get rid of that now? Clean it with alcohol? Or will it disappear when I apply the 2nd coat?

What do you mean by sanding? Can I sand my first coat of epoxy down where the decals are going? Those areas didn’t come out great bc that’s when the epoxy started getting very tacky. They aren’t level, kind of wavy and not to my liking. Is that something I can just level off on my 2nd coat after I apply the decal?
