So you apply it directly from the cup then?

I pulled 3cc’s each of D2 with syringes and mixed them in a crb mixer for 4 minutes. I immediately started applying on a 9rpm dryer. I started at the tip and got all the guides done in time but when I got to the areas where I’m going to put decals and the trim bands near the rear grip it started to get very tacky. Is it because I didn’t leave it in the mixing cup and spread it out on aluminum foi

So the first coat didn’t go so well. I mixed up 3cc’s of each then poured it onto aluminum foil wrapped over a paper plate, then flashed it a couple times with my butane micro torch. Started applying from the tip and by the time I got to where my decal above the fore grip is going it was already very tacky. The areas where both my rear grip decal and foregrip decal are going looked terrible. Not

Approximately how much epoxy should I use for the first coat on one 7' casting rod? (10 guides plus tip top, two decals and I would say an average amount of thread) Thanks much!

The GPS also gives me a 4th measurement (Reducer to choke guide), is this where the 4.5 KB would go?

Great thanks! He uses a Shimano Stradic Ci4+ C3000HG with 15lb braid main line w/ a flouro leader. I was intending on going with the KR concept w/ 20klh-10klh-5.5M reduction, instead of 16-8-5.5 to make it a little more versatile in case he uses straight flouro or even happens to switch reels.

I wish I could wait to get my hands on the reel but unfortunately I can't. The purchaser wants a completed rod to present. I think I'm going to have to order the regular KL guides and use the standard provided measurements.

I think you may have misread my post. I don't have the reel for reduction train guide spacing so I don't know if I should just ballpark the location or not. And my original question was referring to using a smaller tip top which is 4.5 and already installed with larger 5.0 kt runners not a larger tip top with smaller runners.

Rainshadow Immortal spinning rod build: Guy's I already installed a micro 4.5 Fuji tip top with intentions of doing a KR concept guide train w/ 4.5 runners however I cannot get my hands on the individuals reel for static testing bc it's a gift so I was thinking of converting to KL's. If I do convert to KL's and use KT5's for runners, will it be okay matching them up with the 4.5 tip? Or should I

I am building a 7’3” walleye jig rod, 2500 reel w/ 15lb braid, I punched in my numbers as follows, rod length 87”, butt to spool axle 14.25”. I get 16h-8h-5.5m and five 4.5kt runners. My question is are they not recommending the kb guide any longer? I thought I was supposed to use a kb after the 5.5m?

I’ve never done a saltwater rod before but I have a gentleman who would like a 2 piece Cobia rod for when he travels down south. He currently has a Penn Slammer he loves that is 7’ 17-40lbs but it’s a one piece not suitable for his traveling. Appreciate your help!

So for ten total guides you think 16-12-10-(6)8’s+tip top would be a good selection?

Flouro leader which won’t pass through guides at all.

Guy’s that are using running guides smaller than size 8, like 5.5,6 or 7’s, what are you using for a tip top? I’m looking at building a 9 to 9’6” casting Musky rod and trying to determine my guide train. The blank I plan on using has a tip tube size of 8(3.2). It will be either an XH or XXH rates up to 2lbs and will most likely be running 85-100lb braid. I can’t find a tip top in 8(3.2) smaller

Hi guys I just filed my rod business on the 12th basically in order to obtain wholesale discount pricing. Mudhole is telling me that I need to also provide them with a copy of my resale tax certificate. Can anyone elaborate on this? I’m from NY. Do I really need this? I can’t see myself selling more than a few rods a year. Thanks!

I’m look at building a 7’ to 7’3” walleye jigging spinning rod in M-F. Will only be throwing jigs from 3/8-5/8oz. I’m looking for recommendations on a guide train for this type of rod. Line will be 15lb braid with a 6-8lb flouro leader with an FG knot. For my drop shot rods I’m using the Fuji K concept guides, 16H, 8H, 5.5L or M, 4.5KB, four 4.5KT runners and a 4.5LG micro tip top. Should I use

I'm new to rod building so I'm wondering what size thread is ideal for a drop shot rod. I see Hitena threads run smaller than others, for example their B is the same diameter of Pro Wrap's A, so I'm not sure which to use. Thank you!

This will be my first custom drop shot build for myself and I’ll be using the Fuji KLH guides with 4.5 kt runners. I have seen many suggestions for the tip top, for example bfcat and fc but why would I use a casting rod tip top and not just the micro Fuji spinning tip top. Let me know what the best option is. I’ll be using braid with an fg knot flouro’d leader so I want a tip top that won’t hav

I'm interested in a Liberty blank for a custom drop shot rod but what I'm looking for is a 7' Medium X-Fast blank rated up to 1/2 oz, sometimes 5/8 oz. I've looked at the DS700 but it's only rated up to 5/16 which isn't enough for my specific application. I do however see they offer a 7'6" spin jig model (#SJ763-USA) which is Medium X-Fast rated up to 5/8oz. If I were to remove approximatel
