Holographic guide wrapped on a painted chameleon blank. Three part Duplicolor brand paint was used. Purple, green and gold tints show up depending on how you turn it in the light.

Rod and split grip area was painted yellow. NCP purple overwrap with gold trim bands under Swampland label. LSU decals done in purple and put directly on to the painted blank.

Another example of a "cork" handle. Cork veneer is peeling off of the foam and the seam is completely coming apart. Cork sheet is no thicker than a poster board. customer wanted handle replaced,quoted him 25.00 and he said he only paid 18.97. Wal-Mart exclusive Quantum Lite rod.

There was no need to try to “fix” a defective handle. Mudhole took care of the problem and as was stated , a call to them in the first place was the better option than trying to fix it.

Sounds like you’re using the epoxy glue instead of the epoxy rod finish. Take a close look at your bottles. What does the label say ?

Why not just try a test wrap ? First hand experience is always the best experience.

The abrasive grit is the worse thing to use. The grit does fall off while reaming and can easily get imbedded in your grip. When you test fit you’re very likely to scratch your blank. In my early days of rodbuilding those type of reamers were the norm and from personal experience the will scratch your blank.

What you need to do is get more information from him as to what he’ll be targeting and also you need to confirm from him whether you’re building him a rod or not.

Thomas I’m still around but mostly deal with walk in customers and phone. Rachael and I are now divorced. Moving into a retail store in the coming month. It’s good hearing from you again. Give me a call anytime you want to catch up on the “old” days.

Every year at a show I exhibited at in Houston Ellis would call me to make sure I was going to be there and He’d always stop by my booth to pick up supplies to build one or two rods and shoot the breeze.

You have to put a couple of coats of finish over it first. But personally, I think it detracts away from the dragonscale.
