Aaron,
The NEO is a great blank for deep diving crank baits, its a composite (carbon/zentron) so the tip is soft and slow to recover, the body is progressively stiff.

Shawn,
For the NFC grips - we have a few different types.
The soft touch grips as you have mentioned have arbors that are NOW pre-glued (as of this month) We received A LOT of feedback of what would make their assembly easier, and a pre-glued arbor was one of the recent upgrades.
The IPS and VSS grips fit the reel-seats perfectly, with the VSS designed for the size 16.
The split grips

Shawn,
I am biased, because I love NFC, and all of the blanks are like our children :-)
A few times per year we run a deep promo on X-ray blanks because we are of the firm belief that if folks try our blanks - they will never look back and will continue to incorporate them into their builds.
There is a description on our page of what makes an X-ray blank - we chose the name as throughout

Andrew,
I am biased - because I love NFC.
The classic lineup of blanks will feel and behave very similar to the IMX and GLX blanks that Gary made at G.Loomis. The materials have gotten better over the last 30 years, which has allowed him to design a similar action that is lighter and stronger. The classic blanks have a wrap/reinforced ferrule (it looks like a spiral in the ferrule area) whi

Russ,
(also, those that are looking for a smooth finish, and DO NOT want to coat the grips)
Please grab a scotch-brite - we have found that the purple ones work best, and "scrub" the outside of the grip.
It will give it a matte, smooth, finish.
This is akin to "buffing" the grips.
ALL of the Edge Rods grips go through this process.
We use a different process

Ben,
I looked at our records (purchase/warranty/email) for your first name and last name, and I cannot find ANY record of you making a purchase or having a concern.
If you have not had any business dealings with us, why are you stating that we have poor customer service? Or is this "I have heard this from a buddy of mine?"
This message is brought to you by 38 hard working folks

Pat,
Thank you!
We designed them to press up against the reel seat (not to have a lip between the edge of the reelseat and the edge of the grip)
The folks that tested them for about a year before they were released found the lip “annoying”

Bob,
That’s correct.
The smaller squares match better with some aesthetic builds than others, but both weigh the same, feel, and build the same.

Spencer,
Lighter than cork, more sensitive, will not degrade,
In our case - they feel like premium cork.
As a company (Edge/NFC) we moved to carbon fiber grips with the Black Widow rods in 2011, back then, Gary believed that carbon fiber grips are the future (not the heavy tubes offered everywhere, we started hand braiding our own because we could not find the right pre-Preg, with the

Dear All,
Our soft touch grips are back in stock, they are sold as a kit with all of the arbors and trim pieces to finish a handle assembly.
On sale this weekend.
“Soft touch” because they feel like flor grade cork - like velvet.
Thanks,
Alex

We (North Fork Composites) have one piece blanks in our fly section:
8, 9, 10, 12
All are 9 feet, and while we don’t have a 7, I downline the 8 and can still get “a lot” of distance with it. Let us know if we can help.
Best,
Alex

Thanks for your order - (and going with your gut!)
The NEO is a good choice - it’s the hybrid that you are looking for with a slim butt.
Thanks for choosing USA made blanks.

Jay,
The only “glass” blanks/blend that are in the delta line are the HYB blanks.
Delta blanks are a carbon blend - some of the models have 104 glass scrim (kind of like a backing material on top of carbon to keep it together).
Best Regards,
Aleks

Dear Rod Builders,
We sent out an email earlier - but wanted to post here as well.
The MB 705 IM or as many of you know it by its former number as the MBR843 or MBR844 IMX is one of the greatest blanks that Gary has designed and manufactured - it defined and re-defined what a medium heavy blank is. We have manufactured several hundred of them - and are making them available to you at $75. Y

Thank you for your feedback and instructions - Perfect!
P.S. the arbor that goes inside of the grip is just so that the blank can be centered...it does not need to encompass the full grip.

Mike,
It has to do with the pattern design, the material utilized, and the taper of the mandrel.
Depending on what you are doing with the blank (casting, working the lure, or setting the hook) a different part of the blank is activated. Also, what we are able to control on this blank is not just the action - but the reaction (how quick it dampens) which is why we recommend it for the types

Dean,
It should say 3.0,
We allow the trimming of that blank and make rods out of it from 7’6 to 6’9 (and so do many OEMs) the standard 7’6 length should be right at 3oz, plus or minus the variance in the resin concentration of the pre-Preg we receive (+/- 3%)
What do you think of the blank?

David -
1.3oz is correct on the 703, wide range, slim in diameter, light and fast - it’s ideal for the inshore fishery.
The NEO is perfect for cranks, chatter baits, jerkbaits, (take a look at the deflection chart - the recovers in a way not to interfere with the action of those types of lures.
Best,
Aleks
