kind of a crazy ider and the one thing not mentioned is how you or what kind of tip top do you use or make to accommodate both sets of guides ? you often see people using a spinning rod upside down or using a casting reel on a spinning rod but not so much the other way casting rod with spinning reel.

Mark as for the thread tension thing it is what you feel is right for me I like my thread to be a bit tight so that I can pack the wrap as I go that is a pain at some times but it does making the final burnishing quick and easy as there is no creation of thread gaps or over lapping because it is to loose. and yes thread tension is a relative term it is what you prefer. one thing I have lear

the 62 * temp is where you would want at least 70 * don't get me wrong it will still work but the epoxy won't be as viscous at lower temps that is why a lot of users heat their epoxies before measuring the portions for mixing and choose to finish off with a light shot of heat from a burner or heat gun to keep the viscosity there fro a bit longer so things like the tunnels fill and any possibil

yes it will work if it isn't a sloppy fit other wise you might want to ass a few windings to take up the space and then glue it back on

So , i know a ton of anglers on these boards took advantage of the 50% discount on NFC's blanks , would love to get feedback from many of you who received them . Herb should have been more specific with you query feed back on what the rods, the shipping, the price, the quality. kind of a real open ended question Spencer is right no nonsense in his response, we aren't mind readers Wit

I see it all the time guys fishing from shore or a boat hauling a fish through the water and hosting it up to their hand flexing the rod at near 90 degrees as they get in to those habits from watching the bass guys compete on tv hauling big fish out of any kind of cover as fast as they can and over flex their rods as they have several on board if one fails they just grab another and keep on doi

went to a disposable lighter years ago glad I did some times the wick that comes with the burner isn't pure cotton and causes the soot and over heating the epoxy can do the same. The Alcohol also still evaporates and don't like the idea of having the fumes around just a spark could cause a unwanted problem.

I wouldn't get to excited as of yet the stuff will work well for repairs where you want an invisible wrap done with white silk would be a time saver and a quick way to do it for a customer. does any one remember when they had the ider to use shrink tube ? that was eagle claw that gave that a try it didn't fly. this might work but I have my doubts so I will still use thread wraps and use it as

you would need to drill a hole at the top and bottom opposite side of the seat top hole as Dave said inject some epoxy in to it I would thin the epoxy some to make it flow to wet out as much of the seat space as possible or use optimum flow epoxy after you inject the epoxy just place a piece of tape across the bottom hole and stand it up right and let it cure over night and check it in the mo

I do know they start with a sheet of metal and it is punched the basic frame then sent for polishing clean up feet get ground then finishing /plating and it gets the necessary bends added the ring is added and you have a guide. for the deep pressed guides that is a whole lot of engineering to do the stamping of the frame and setting of the ring making them quite a bit more expensive

you can some sweat equity and a couple of things build it your self with if it need not be sensitive you can get one of the telescoping cane type poles and use either the butt section or the second section from the butt and hall out the dial caliper and measure the top end for diameter and search for a 7 ft blank close to that dia and insert the 7 ft blank in to the butt section mark it and sli

don't think they make any that long and light most tele rod blanks start at 1/4-1 ounce 7 ft-6 in called flipping sticks , your pretty much left with 2 piece rods you would be better off with a 7 ft med light 1 piece blank easier to control the fish when hooked

been using 5 min epoxy for years and had to replace several tip tops for same customer and never has an issue with removing it after using 5 min epoxy as it is not as heat resistant as others and need about the same amount of heat to remove them as hot melt glue, the epoxy sticks better and short and fast the rod is ready for abuse again. where the issues arise from is when you over heat the hot

There are the mass mfg's of rods for the market and close is good enough for them when it comes to building so they use the straightest axis vs the spine key word is close then you have the builder that looks to build better balanced rod so they take the time and find the spine and start from there depending on the type of rod they set the spine to closely match the rated action/ power of t

If memory serves me right they were a dark honey brown clear coat with gold insignia and lettering had slip over ferules and you could see the wrap of the fibers through the clear coat. your best bet to match it would be an auto body paint supplier to get the color you would need clear yellow and clear brown mixed what amounts I couldn't venture a guess with the new advances in auto paint

you might have to make it fit or build one The new Versatile Spinning Reel Seat designed by Fuji®, improves overall strength and performance over standard reel seats and can be used with a much wider range of reels. The slim, smooth streamlined shape provides increased comfort and a superb fit for the angler's hand, while the curved hood supports the hand and fingers from the first cast to th
