I bought several different size medium coarse tapered round files and I run them in my drill in reverse and go in and out as I am reaming the cork handles when using prefab handle components never has a crack or split out just got to go easy and clear the file from time to time start out close to size and go up a little more till you get the size you need and best is to work from back to front

most guides are just a few grains apart in weight the 2 foot ones are close the single foot are close this is the same for braced guided and naturally they will be a few grains heaver because of the brace unless your using titanium frames with ceramic rings there is a difference with just the wire rings they are some what lighter but not as durable or if they are the micro or mimina it

that doesn't sound right did you enter the info correctly and will it be used for braid , mono , or flor, it seems that it is taking the line curl/ whip factor to the closest distance from the spool. do you have some guides to experiment with then I would tape them on and flex load the rod with a separate weight and then run a separate line with a lighter weight just enough to pull the lin

you can use your wrapper but not the thread carriage that is where I said you would want 2 fly tying bobbins you start with the first color in a bobbin and put an end of the second under it the second color is in a bobbin you pull out enough to give you some working room wrap that end enough to hold it in place and tape the barrel to the rod then you change to the second bobbin you had taped to

one way is to use fly tying bobbins for each color Are you wanting to make a one and one stripe or a couple of wraps with one color and then a couple wraps with another color ??

Yes Ken either post some pics or e mail me some and can give you better ideas and may be some of the guides you might need if you can clean off the glue that way do it but if it is from the tape you could get it off quick with dome denatured alcohol have a good day

start here or get those creative juices going you might be able to adapt something from the radio controlled hobby sector as the batteries are small and light and motors are quire powerful. I know they have reels for casting and spinning but never heard of one for fly fishing you might new the new inventor

sounds like they are casting rods right ? and your missing the skip and screw pirces to hold the reel in place. you can make new skips with a piece of brass or steel about one quarter inch thick and 7/8 ths long round one end and drill a hole {guessing the hole in the seat is 1/4 inch} then tap it 1/4 -20 and hit the hard ware store for a couple of round head screws and take a dremel and

Use to do it a lot an I have found over the years that the vinyl jig paint works the best for me with a good sable brush the model hobby paint being an enamel doesn't get along with nylon thread as well. but keep the rod turning till you complete the line then you won't get drips or bleeding.

comes down to the action of a given rod and to many could impair the action, flex and recovery on a cast and the line path if it is oscillating through the guides or the flow is straight and even some times more guides can cause the line to crowd resulting diminished casting distance and tangling. the difference is the action flex of the rod ex fast ,fast and fast mod you will have to decide which one is best for you. do you want to be able to hit super hard on a strike and chance you will rip out the hook or a moderate fast and get a solid hook set and still have enough back bone to handle the weeds and fish.

You might try going to a marine supplier for a urethane that they use on wooden boats now as it has built in uv protectorate and dries quickly if you don't want to use epoxy finish then use U40 Perma Gloss or lumiseal urethane,ThreadMaster ONE One-Part Rod Finish all are available through Mud hole

the 904 is at the top end of what the lure weight you say you will use and will work well the 905 is double the lure weight at the top end and you might not get a desirable feel from the lighter baits as the bait would be at the bottom of the scale for a 5/8 lure but will still work just not as much action you would feel you have to consider which bait you will be using the most lighter or the

buy new grips then cut off the old ones and clean up the parts of the blank where the grip fits then ream them to fit the blank doing as suggested to make the hole one size with no taper to the blank and fill the gap with some tape isn't a good idea IMHO after you have the grips reamed to the blank taper slit them with a razor blade and then either use model glue or super glue as that is what t

you can but it is not self leveling and you more than likely will get a foot ball effect or a drip best to use rod finish not worth cutting the corner if it is a good rod or a customers rod .
