What area are you fishing? The different areas and size of the grouper can change the rod blank suggestion.

The most popular from RainShadow is the RX7 SW1088. The 1089 would work but that’s a good amount heavier in power. If you wanted to go high end, The Judge Live Bait JDGLB810L or JDGLB810ML would work. It’s a made in USA blank, so a higher price tag.

For our high-end RainShadow we'd recommend The Judge JDGCB710H (Made in USA) blank - You can also go with the Revelation Crankbait REVCB80H -

From RainShadow Rod Blanks we recommend the RX8 XST1324 for a Center pin - The ISA1265 was discontinued a few years ago.

From RainShadow we’d recommend the RX7 IST1203 – It’s a salmon graphite blank, it’ll give you the power to lift up from the weeds and is 10ft. You can also go with the 1204 but that might be a bit too much power.

Now in-stock by Batson Enterprises and available to order from our dealers! You will also be able to see them in-person at International Custom Rod Building Exposition Trolling Butt - AB1 butts are not only stylish giving you that unique "bling" factor but are made of high-grade unidirectional carbon fiber, structured in layers to create high resistance to impacts and heavy loads.

The Chameleon ring on the LF Guides is not a stocked item, it’s more showing what they can do – which is why it’s not on our Batson / ALPSForeCast website. So far there hasn’t been enough demand to put it into production… so it’s a special order item at this point (which normally requires a quantity of 25 for each size needed).

The RainShadow E-Glass GCB series would be the way to go, MSRP is $40 but there’s dealers that sell it for less. They’ve been fished pretty heavily and last forever, being glass they’re fatter in the butt. If you want to take it up to graphite then the Revelation Crankbait series has stood the test of time (previously RX7 series) and is the goto for many anglers.

We’d recommend our Made-in-USA RainShadow The Judge Live Bait rod blanks. They have S-Glass tips with graphite in the butt, which will give it the backbone you’re looking for. JDGLB70L-CG 15-30lb, JDGLB70ML-CG 20-40lb and JDGLB70M-CG 20-50lb (though we think this will be overkill) - You can also go with our RCLB series, it’s E-Glass with graphite but will have that feeling of S-Glass

The RainShadow RDR series that Roger links to is what we use for Kokanee trolling out here on the Olympic Peninsula. Karry Batson personally uses and recommends the RDR710L – but any of them will work.

Out of the ones you’re looking at the RX6 SB-782 would be a great choice. We’d also recommend the Revelation REVS68M or 72M – if you want to step it up a notch or two.

You just need to ream them out, our ForeCast Dream Reamer kit is great for that: About the largest ID we have for EVA girps is .875" ID: Anyone of our dealers will carry the above.

Roger beat me to it, we’d also recommend our RainShadow Immortal Walleye sinning rods. IMMWS62L (4-10lb) and IMMWS62MXF (6-15lb) Can't go wrong with the REVELATION or RX7 lineup as well.

In the past Hypalon was the grip material of choice for many rods, but recent changes in the laws have made it impossible for Hypalon to be manufactured or imported to the USA. Well there’s where we come in, after testing various materials for a suitable replacement we came across EPDM (ethylene propylene diene monomer). This is a synthetic foam rubber material that has the same characteristics o

No problem Robert. Once you pick one just send us a message and we'll send you the blueprint for a Centerpin version of that particular model. Centerpin is becoming more and more popular here in WA.

We build a lot on the RainShadow Immortal Spey blanks here for the Pacific Northwest, specifically the IMMF1338 (13’3” 4-piece) - But the Rainshadow RX8 XST1563-4 (13’ 4-piece) also makes a great Centerpin rod -
