I like k series double foots for jigging rods, and for jigging I prefer it to be bottom heavy or balanced if possible. But it's all an opinion, other people may like it different.

Isn't lighter and denser an oxymoron? I haven't used syncork but I believe you meant lighter and more rigid.

I've never been on this site until today. I really like how you have the deflections graph on your blanks that you sell. Seems like a better way to help rod builders know what they are getting

An old trick I learned is to put ice all around the ferrules for a while, this causes them to slightly compress. Then you hold the female end in your hand to help warm it up a little bit, this expands the female end a little to help make it easier to separate the ferrules.

I started using thread master this year and I really enjoy it to. It's my finish of choice.

I have my method which leaves me with absolutely zero bubbles. First I mix up the finish, I don't worry about any bubbles in the finish. I then pour it on a plate wrapped in aluminum. This pops most of the bubbles, I then use a coffee straw and blow on what's left of the bubbles. If there's still bubbles left in the epoxy that's when I get my butane torch and gently heat it until the bubbles pop

Photoshop and illustrator are really similar, I'm certified in Photoshop too. But Adobe has quite a bit of instructional videos that help people when they try to learn it.

I haven't dealt with them before this but I am certified in adobe illustrator. I wonder if they would allow me to create my own designs with illustrator. I guess I'll ask next time I order from them.

They are all really good blanks. I've used mhx mainly just because of all the different variations that have. I've built a couple rain shadow rods and they are great too! I haven't built any hydra or bushido rods yet but I'm surely looking to. My next build for myself will probably be on a bushido blank.

I'm actually ordering a decal through them right now. I didn't have a response yesterday, but I did today.

Check this out, they have a free spiral wrap how to/degree wheel. []. Never mind after I posted it I noticed it was a blocked site because they don't sponsor this page. But do a quick Google search and it should help.

I prefer split grip for keeping it light weight. Balancing a rod doesn't really play too big of a role for me in finesse.

I have built a rod for a friend for that same technique. Shore fishing with live or frozen bait from the coast. I prefer a mod fast or a moderate action to help keep the bait on the hook while I cast. I'd go with a 9' rod that could handle 20lb line on a 4000 size reel. I'd go with the 9ft simply for casting distance and the 4000 size reel will hold plenty of enough line. I'd ask her how heavy of

I always align the peices first, and then I attach all the peices and double check the entire rod.

I just got a batson eternity 2 in yesterday, and wow! The blue finish on it looks amazing! But I also like the color on the new painted mhx series, I've got a red one that I've built for myself.

My magazine was fine except that the mailing cover was upside down. It's a 2 second fix. Just take the mailing cover off. It's not a big deal. I still really enjoyed my magazine. Tom seems like a good man and I'm sure he will do whatever he can to help his subscribers. Now whether he wants to use his printer or a different printer is his choice. Now Jim advertised a different company that doesn't

You can't fix stupid. You can just muffle the sound with duct tape.

When finishing up a wrap I always double wrap the ends, cut off the threads, and then double wrap over the end of the threads. Always seem to work fine for me.

I know the rod room has some of those black perfect fit winngrips and I do believe some of them were geared towards spinning rods, the only other spinning rod Winn grip I can think of is the mhx winngrips that mudhole sells.

My first rod I built was a $40 cheap kit. My second rod was a $60 cheap kit. My third rod was an $80 kit. You know what I wished I would've done. I wished the first three were $40 kits. Because I made little mistakes on each one of them. The first one I made I ended up putting too much epoxy on it and having the finish "football". The second one I learned that you shouldn't use too much

Steve. The first thing you have to do is not worry about it. I'm pretty sure everyone has made this mistake before and it's going to be okay. The next thing you need to do is to cut through the wrap on top of the foot of the hook keeper so the blade doesn't dig into the blank. Try to get the end of the thread from where you cut and unwind it. This normally takes off most of the epoxy. If there is
