There are several ways Fill and sand If the customer likes it done If not cover with shrink wrap If he is ruff with the rod suggest sanding it down and use the old handle as an arbor and slide on a smooth butt which will hold up a lot longer If it is a butt handle

Last time I asked that question and then went to mudhole I was told -- the OD of the ceramic ring is the size of the guide You can also ask the supplier to measure the ID and the OD if you want a certain size hole for your line and tackle Several companies also have charts with many measurements on the frame height ring size If not good ask the supplier yea I know very confusing Then again --

I have put permagloss over - Dupli Color Match - auto paint This paint is thin from the can and drys fast and hard The permagloss did take a little off But worked well They also have a clear I have not tried it yet ut I would think it is just as good Auto Parts stores some times carry it You can call some and make sure

Roger is right I do my CP work on a dryer also keeps things from sagging Have you tried Permagloss Got to be quick Try the permagloss on some scrap first Not sure how it will act on that paint

Sounds like you put the finish on too fast with out letting the first coat set well That is why the sags Don't be in a hurry let each coat set well I coat takes 4 - 6 hours to set

What was the lure rating on that hot shot blank That will tell the story must be about 3/8

Make it easier on your self Get a fly blank rated for the line you want to use -- And then you may have to try several lines to see how it loads with each and how it casts for YOU

Easy way that will get into the ball park but still have to be tested with the line is to take the line wt say 8 wt line and put it over 16 8 / 16 about 1/2 oz lure weight You will as said try the line on the blank with several guides and see how it cases

Stay with the finish It is easier to use Mark the syringes I mark the bottles with an A or a B then make the syringe to go with it Less trouble Just take your time Mix equal amounts and you get the same results every time

You can make them from scrap blanks I have many and they work fine If they are a little soft glue in another scrap piece to stiffen them up I have made reamers and mandrels Just make sure they are straight

Just wondering - how do you slide a grip over two sided tape Would it not get stuck before completely on ?? I would think the glue would work a lot better

If you use the vacuum you may wind up with less fly tying stuff LOL I have a lot of stuff under chairs and couches Living room

If you need to ream it out Go slow Be careful and do not push the reamer in to hard so as not to crack it It should work

Get a spray bottle and spray around the rod and area Helps to keep dust down Also get a good vacuum cleaner LOL
