There are several ways
Fill and sand If the customer likes it done If not cover with shrink wrap
If he is ruff with the rod suggest sanding it down and use the old handle as an arbor and slide on a smooth butt which will hold up a lot longer If it is a butt handle

185. Re: guide sizes
Last time I asked that question and then went to mudhole I was told -- the OD of the ceramic ring is the size of the guide
You can also ask the supplier to measure the ID and the OD if you want a certain size hole for your line and tackle
Several companies also have charts with many measurements on the frame height ring size If not good ask the supplier
yea I know very confusing Then again --

What was the lure rating on that hot shot blank That will tell the story must be about 3/8

Make it easier on your self Get a fly blank rated for the line you want to use -- And then you may have to try several lines to see how it loads with each and how it casts for YOU

Easy way that will get into the ball park but still have to be tested with the line is to take the line wt say 8 wt line and put it over 16 8 / 16 about 1/2 oz lure weight You will as said try the line on the blank with several guides and see how it cases

194. Re: Finish
Stay with the finish It is easier to use
Mark the syringes I mark the bottles with an A or a B then make the syringe to go with it Less trouble
Just take your time Mix equal amounts and you get the same results every time

195. Re: mandrels
You can make them from scrap blanks I have many and they work fine If they are a little soft glue in another scrap piece to stiffen them up I have made reamers and mandrels Just make sure they are straight

Just wondering - how do you slide a grip over two sided tape Would it not get stuck before completely on ??
I would think the glue would work a lot better

205. Re: Epoxy/adhesive
If you need to ream it out Go slow Be careful and do not push the reamer in to hard so as not to crack it It should work
