You put the guides on Static test And let the line tell you where they may do the best Then test cast I have found that the static test tells me where the guides go A straight line or as well as you can get If the line tends to rub the blank Try closer together and add one more Nothing written in stone and all guides can and most of the time be moved around to get the best performance Also a go

Instead of going thought all that with permagloss try a auto clear Can be adjusted to dry slower Thin and as hard This way when wiped on it stays wetter longer so is a lot easier to use And is not hot so will not eat into most Lacquer paints If you us an enamel all bets are off

We have been getting temps around 100 lately It does get cooler and maybe very early 4 - 5 :00 may be a better time to apply finish One or two hours before the sun comes up seems to be the coolest time I do believe the Aftcote is about the longest to set up and may be your best bet I have been thinning my high build finish for years and it does help

You can coll down your area which will help 90 is way to hot You can also if you are using a heavy finish thin it with a solvent of say Medium temperature thinner which will keep it wet longer Use a lighter finish If you can put in a air conditioner

One trick to see what it looks like with clear on is to just put water on the paint The water acts like a clear coat and will bring up the gloss Just wipe one or two fingers wet over the paint -- when dry
