304. Help
I have just uploaded two images into the photo page. The first is a image of a Berkely Buccaneer. Note the use of thread. Seems a little excessive to todays standards :) The second image is of the first guide. It is a little misshapen :). The current inside dimensions are 17.5mm X 23.6. Any ideas on the original size and guide model?

Bryce: This is not unusual. If you have the correct tension, then you will be able to move the guides so that they are all inline. Gently move the guide around the blank unitl they are inline.

Thanks Tom. I will order one of each and see which one is closest size. I will look at the suppliers and see who has the Chestnut 5274 in NCP. I will take a picture of the rod. There is a LOT of thread on this rod.

Folks: My father picked up a Berkley Buccaneer, 6.5' 5 piece spinning rod with spigott ferrules the other day. He would like it "repaired for use", not rebuilt. This appears to be a fibreglass rod from the late sixties to early seventies. I looking for the following information if it is available. Butt guide size ( the current guide is oblong not round. Thread colour (seem

Too true. Mudhole sends out a load of catalogs, so mail order will be a factor.

As with all things there is a short answer and a long answer. The short answer is that the software exists. It can be configured with reorder points, suppliers and all sorts of historical information. The answer starts getting longer when we start talking about the internet, hosted applications and frequency of update. Do we "reserve" product that is being placed in a shopping

Tint the epoxy to match either the reel seat or the blank. This will create a shadow area that should be near invisible.

Try with a different image and see if that uploads. I know you had uploaded some earlier, but try a different image again. (trying to isolate the image as the issue)

I sent an email to Customtackle a couple of days ago and got a reply within a day. I also received a call last night. Apparently they magazines were held up at the border and they have received two editions at the same time. Although I have yet to receive mine, we should get them about a week apart. Chris

No apology necessary. The Sitcky's and the library are both good reads and answer a large number of questions. Try the Search feature as well. Type in a query and set the Date range to all. You will find lots of information this way. Do not hesitate to ask questions. This is one of the best forums on the net for information sharing.

This is a bamboo boat rod. Under extended, heavy, load the bamboo can take a set (curve). The purpose of the guides on opposite sides is to allow for the set to be removed by putting the next heavy load on the opposite side.

Can you build up the blank with cord or cork tape and then use the 5/8 ths? for the cord you would want to glue the cord to the blank with rodbond an then allow that to dry, prior to adding the 5/8ths EVA grip.
