This is the butt and bumper guide wrapped on a 6ft. 20lb class Pac-Bay glass blank. Cut the one piece blank and installed glass ferrule. Guides are Fuji BHNNG silicone nitride. Dave Gilberg sent me the butt section of the surf rod he's building for me to flock the cord grips for him. The flock has set for 3 days. Man! I cant wait to touch it!! Need to wait a bit longer though

This my first attempt at an swelled butt with inlay. The feathers are church window, grey's peacock pheasent, and red spike. A gold chain winding check cant be seen but its there. Was very disappointed that the grey's bright blue color disappeared
after the epoxy was applied! OK, so I'm not feather artist yet but Im working on it!! Thanks for all the advice Terry!

Both guides were attacked with a triangular file. The photo says it all. Recoil failed while the Zirconium (maker unknown) passed with only a discolored area or scratch which cannot be felt. You can see the blue scratch just left of the 6 o'clock area.
