I have used faucet washers, some are flat and some have a tapered face. Pick the size and drill it out to fit the blank.

I use Epoxy all the time. The slow curing time allows one to carefully align the tip to the guides. Removing the tip at a later time is no problem, I use a Dremel tool with a cut off wheel and gently cut groooves along the sides of the tip and separating the halves.

I am going to do the new concept guide system. I read the article but did not find what the size the choke guide should be. The rod will be for spinning with 10lb line. The distance from the reel face to the tip is 71 1/2 inches. The choke guide is calculated to be 48 inches from the reel face. There will be 8 guides plus tip. My choice is 25, 16, 12, choke?, 8,8,8,8. Please advise if this is

Michael I do not use any glue or adhesive that cures harder than the cork. If the adhesive is harder than the cork it tends to leave raised edges at the glue lines if you are not careful when sanding to shape. I use Weld wood or Plio bond contact cement because it is flexible and waterproof. It is very important that the assembly be clamped (compressed) tightly until the adhesive fully cures.

I always cut off 1/4 to 1/2 inch off the tip of the blank or cut enough off the tip to fit the closest size tip snugly. Also by cuting off some of the tip it insures that the blank tip is sound and free from any flaws from the manufacturing termination process. Cutting the butt end is preferred because it has less of an effect on the action of the blank. The only time the tip should be cut is if

I am assuming the heat you describe is comming from the container the epoxy is mixed in. Remeber, that mixture is in bulk and the reaction is more intense when the mixture is in mass than when spread out over a larger area. The amount of epoxy spread over the threaded guide area is very small compared to what is left in the mixing container. The thread and the rod blank will dissipate the heat g

I was looking at the fuji charts for a 7 foot spinning rod and they recommend guide as 35 next is a 16 and 10, 8, 7, 7, 6, 6. Is a jump from 35 to 16 extreme? Has any one did a 35 to 16 placement? I don't want to go through all the work and be dissapointed. Thanks john
