I have a MB 709 XRay yet to be built and it feels like a beast of a blank to me. I don't have time to build it for the moment since I'm working on a very special project on a XRAY SJ 732 but, if you have some specific questions about the blank itself I might try to give you some answers.

Pull slower. If it does nut work ,pull more than you need, allow the bubble to rise to the tip of the syringe push back into the bottle, wait 30 seconds, and pull again. Bottle up of course.

I would say at least half the diameter of the reel spool (just to be on the safe side). It

Alex, I'm not trying to convince you of anything, actually it will be better for you to form your own opinions by trying different layouts (guides systems) . If You discover that Zenaq has the best system for you , by all means use it. I was just saying that one ho claims he has the best and wants to convince me with tests that his solution is actually the best needs to compare it with previ

There are many claims these days because everybody is trying to sell something new and make a living out of it but they are always provide comparisons with the so called "classic " guide system which usually is "the cone of flight".
The only way to form an opinion is to try it for your self using materials as close to the advertised original as you can get (if you do

Brandon, you can use same configurations, they are all pretty much the same height. I've been a builder who used exclusive Fuji KR type guides but, later on, I gave it a try to American Tackle Tornado and now I switched to Seaguide's XO (or Zeus series as they appear in the catalog) , which rival Fuji's Torzite in quality and performance but beat them with the price. Is not my intention to of

I would recommend 4.5 as well . I ordered 4.0 for mine and I had to sand the tip down quite a lot to fit.

Thank you for your compliments guys, it is indeed quite an effort to do my handles but I found that is worth the struggle so I cannot stop doing it. I like my rods to be comfy (specially in cold weather) and nice to the touch and therefore the concealed reel foot. I'm experimenting with shrink tubing my self and, what I prefer to do is apply a layer of demolding agent (mold release spray) o

Well this is the type of comparison I was hoping to see more often, thank you Norman Miller. As a matter of fact, I was expecting something like this to be done in a workshop at the Expo blanks with similar characteristics from different vendors can be easily compared to each other and give us a better idea what differentiates one from the others and which one is best suited for our c

Thank you very much Norman , this helps a lot . What I do not understand is how come they are not available in the US if SeaGuide is a sponsor here on the board ? Normally they should be stocking their own products and they should be very interested to promote their items if they want to sell . I did write them an email and hopefully they have some because if I need to import from Europe I'll

Is there anybody with some feedback on Seaguide’s XO series guides? I'm interested specifically in the Titanium Frame -Silicone Nitride (RSolutiun) insert. I am a KR kind of guy but Fuji's Titanium Torzite is just to pricey and Seaguide's solution seems to be the "best bang for the buck" type . So if there is somebody who had a chance to view them live or even better to use them,

So Thomas, can we have your feedback on the matter? What's the deal with those blanks , what do you think about them? You will do our life easier when it comes to choosing between those 2 blanks.
Of course, anybody else is more then welco

This is a common request since those recoils are very noisy specially when you fish with braid. With a 15lbs Power PRO you feel like a saw is going trough your guides .

Hi guys, those of you who had the chance to test the newest and /or the best things on the market, can you point me towards a blank which can rival the G.Loomis NRX blanks in sensitivity ? Let's say I am interested in a 7'0'' long with a 3/16-5/8 casting weight in M or MH for bass and Walleye jigging. What I actually want to know is , if it is worth it to strip down a NRX an customize it t

Thank you very much Don this helps to shed some light on the new guides but not entirely. As I explained to somebody from American Tackle on messenger this morning, the height of those guides will be a truly useful piece of information when deciding the transition guides from the High frame spinning guides to the runners. Hopefully you will introduce that info into the new catalog you are working

Does anybody know the specs for the American Tackle Tornado high frame guides ? I just found those while browsing on Mudhole and they might be a good alternative for the high frame Fuji K Type but, it seems that they are missing a transition between the reduction guides and the runners . I couldn't find any info about Tornado on American Tackle web site and no mention of them in their cata
