Jim you wouldn't have an update on this by any chance? Any new ranges for the tips expected?

62. Re: TORZITE!!!
I've got a set coming. The only disappointment is I can't get a tip to fit the blank. I'm hoping they'll release some larger ID TMNTT tips soon otherwise it will have to be a SIC. I might just take my time on that build lol..

So how do both grips go for actual grip? The rear is clearly fine but I'm wondering how the foregrip will be be with the polished type of finish. Does it get slippery?

Thanks Tom. They're the ones.I've already emailed him. I watched a video of his and I got the impression after seeing Epoxy getting used that hey would have been heavier. Good to know they are vey light and durable. I should hear back soon so will be keen to see what the options are.
Billy I have seen your pics, is there any in particular you were referring too?

65. Custom rod grips
Can anyone help with some custom made grips please? I'm keen to see what's out there but more specifically in the EVA style to keep things light.
I'm looking at the Carbon fibre grips and the mad swirls but am concerned both add a bit of weight. Neither are issues for some builds so I may get some but I also want to make a light build and don't want to add too much for that particular rod. I was

Love em. Can't tell you the weight sorry but they are reasonably light.

67. Re: Grouper Rod
I'd throw the Phenix Megalodon into the mix. It has the right taper and has the blank available in 6'. I really like these blanks and they will suit this sort of fishing. I just don't know the size of the target fish and therefore line capacity and reel.
What I can tell you though is the smallest model at a PE 2 to 4 rating is very strong and is well suited to 40lb line.
I'm only guessing as I

Sorry I don't quite follow. Do you have a link to that Torzite top as I can't find it. I can only find the TMNST top.
Thanks.

Hi Jim.
Do you know if/when larger ID tube tips will be out? I'm looking to build on a rod with a 3.2mm tip and the largest available from Mudhole is 2.6mm.
Also, based on the new rings would a size 10 be a good option instead of a 12 (with SIC)? My original guide train was Titanium K SICs, 25, 16, 12, then 10s to a 10 tip. The TORZITE train was going to be 25, 16, 10, then 8s to and 8 tip.

I'd like to know where the "low rider" nickname came from as these are a pretty high frame guide. The larger ones often get used as the stripper for overhead rods to keep the line off the foregrip before then going back to the lower framed MN style guides.

One very envious angler and rod builder right here. I can't wait for these guides to be available in the land of Oz. Great video.

Got any photos of those grips? They sound interesting.
On the reels, what about Penn? Some of the upper range models like the Torques, spinfishers, fathoms, squalls etc.

You don't really need to underwrap any guides. Having said that I underbind all my double foot guides. I admit it is mostly for show but does have other minor benefits. Not getting into that topic!
The primary heavy spin guide I use is the Fuji MN style frame. With your query based on the range of lines there are many options. In the lighter ranges you can use the double foot K frames from Fuji

Yes they only do that on the web. I only found this out when i got the blank and it was on the butt section. Since they know it I would prefer they put it up. It's a dead lift weight too by the way not a max drag.

What about a dragon scale and maybe even a couple of olive branches?

Phenix Megalodon in the 6 foot range is also worth a look at. The smallest model the PE 2 to 4 has a lot of backbone with a 25kilo max power rating at 60 degrees. Looks like at those drag settings you might want the next one up the MPX 607 and rated PE 3 to 6. It should give the required drag. It might pay to hang the heavy 16 ounce weight off it though just to be sure its not too saturated at th

That's exactly what I do actually. I had a reasonable amount of stuff that came in the order and waiting a full month for the Prokote was ok. Not ideal but ok. I figured that was a reasonable amount of leeway to leave myself before running out. Beyond that though and it left me down to zero.

So I went back and checked my email trail with Mudhole. There's heaps. The first email from them indicating no stock of Prokote was the 9th of December. The fading issue of the Prowrap Metallic was first sent to them on the 27th December and on that particular topic
I have not gotten one response back. I have sent phtotos and numerous follow ups. The one sent to pro products was only Sunday. I'

In the sponsors list to the left there is American tackle and Pro products. I sent an email via the pro products site a few days ago for no response yet. This is after I have received very little from Mudhole on the issues I have for weeks now. While they have responded (eventually) on the Prokote issue where I have been waiting for many weeks now to get some (still don't have it), they have been

I love the look of these but they seem hard to find. Even harder is the MVT ones which look pretty special. If anyone knows where I source the MVT ones please let me know.
Thanks.

I forgot to ask, how suitable is it on guide wraps for heavy saltwater work? Still hold up well?

Jim any idea when they might hit Australian shores? The shop you mentioned on the other thread does not post overseas.

So want does it look like on thread? Any pictures? I'm about to buy some and was originally just going to cant the blank but this has tweaked my interest. I also had planned to apply it to the blank with a brush and use the motor to spin it quickly. Will this work?

As Earnest said above. I prefer the LCSG style for a stripper to halp avoid line rub on the foregrip. Also, it helps get the spiral done early on the blank where it is stronger etc.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I think the question being asked regarding the adding a section of a blank inside the butt area to make it stiffer is actually "will it make it a faster action?"
Then yes, it should.

Ok cool you just want to do a simple wrap. I suggest an open Diamond or Chevron. There's link on here on how to do one but here's a quick and rough run down.
Mark one side of your blank using a China marker starting at the end of the foregrip to just past the finish of the wrap you want to do. Up to you how long but maybe go for 5 complete patterns. I'm not sure of the blank diameter but if you

The rings will be fine but I would suggest to also stay away from the polished Stainless frames. They will still corrode a lot more than the darker painted stainless ones. A g
ood comparison here is the Fuji BMNAG vs CMNAG. If you want a shiny frame, as mentioned above go Titanium plated like the Fuji ICMNSG or full Titanium.

Are you talking about a simple design for a decorative butt wrap or or a hand made rod lathe?
