I find that using ?ight braid or mono I don,t need reduction guides just a tall enough butt guide to prevent line slap then runners..you may be surprised by the stronger hook set too.like Peter says, a light guide train is a big plus for an ultrA light..

Thanks Mo..I enjoyed the videos..mountain streams are a young person sport..is that the kind of fishing you do? Very scenic..the rods and their flex were interesting..they behave like solid fiberglass ice fishing rods...do you know..thanks again..

when you get older, it only takes one little slip then you need hip surgery and you may end up in a chair with wheels not legs..and you can,t get any fishing done..just saying.

l,m just going by feel but the more guides i use the smoother and quicker the load is transfered up and down the blank during a fish fight also i get stronger hook sets if i place the butt guides as low as i can on the rod tapping into more of the stiffer butt..some will say you loose casting distance because of the sharper butt guide angle which is true but this is much less of a problem wth bra

Mike, for a while this site has been getting one or two posts every other day..it comes in spurts but the spurts are getting far apart..maybe as a forum ages the only value it has left is advertising.

David,, it was easy to un snag from a float tube..you can hold your position and get rightbover the snag and poke straight down..often i had to remove the reel and submerse the whole rod..no braid on the flipper just fluoro..braid on everything else and only 10#..i only flipped snags..

i do not think epoxy seals tunnels very well..it pops free of the blank in time and water can get in..if the tunnel were left open so air can freely move in and out it would quickly dry out..i,ve been usig Seymo sealer and leaving tunnels open to dry..the sealer is water resistsnt..i leave the tunnels open on both ends of the guide..water can get but also comes out and air gets in to dry the tunn

Rob, i agree about modern glass but i,m going have to try the S2..i think it might make a fun bass bugging fly rod..about the weight of graphite but the softer touch of glass..but your right, they do get stiffer as they get lighter and as they get stiffer they get fast like grahite..without the weight they can,t act like glass..
