Been a builder for over 35 years. Never used Perma Gloss. Building a white fly rod with white NCP thread and a Pearl Label decal. 2 questions: 1. what do I need to do to the decal and the Prema Gloss seems to be harsh on the test I did? 2. Do I need to do anything to the the white NCP threads? Help an old timer please.

I have built quite a number of "bluewater" rods on AT ATX blanks and have found them to be very high in quality. No complaints from customers, in fact just the opposite...they are highly impressed with the quality and performance. Thank you AT.

Use the cardboard tubes at your own risk. I used to do the same until UPS broke one right in half along with the $350 rod inside. Now I only use heavy guage PVC and I have a commercial account with FedEx...better and less expensive than UPS. The account with FedEx is easy to set up. Good luck. Capt. Justin, The American Rodsmith rod is for real. The titanium strips are for real, The guides are titanium SIC and that is one of the reasons it is so expensive. I have tried to get them to sell me some blanks and they will not, nor will they give me any info on where they are bought. Possibly the best inshore blank made, Very sensitive and very strong! If anyone gets a lead on these blanks I would

Mr. Moore, I find your discussion booring and insignificant. And, I would have left it at that point, but then you proceeded to rudely bash the one man who has promoted the rod building business, its craft and knowledge beyond what any other individual could claim to have done. I only hope that he ignores your rudeness and continues to do so. Tom Kirkman, I would gladly state that 99.99% of th

Putter, Really enjoyed your marbling seminar. I bought one of the marbled Rose Art x 500 Gel pens. Now where can I get some of them to "practice" with? I really like that pen. Thanks, Rick

Tom Kirkman you are the man. What a great Rod Builders Show. The vendors were fantastic, the seminars were very informative and the reception was great. My only complaint is I spent too much money, lol. I really got some great bargains and some new things that I had not seen before. The wife got tired of lugging things back to the hotel only to come back and find I had another bundle. See you nex

I am about to build my first blank exposed reel seat rod. Although I have been building rods for many years this application is my first and I am seeking the best methods to use so that the exposed blank is not smeared with glue AND the reel seat is properly glued to the blank. Any help will be appreciated. Thank you, Capt. Rick Bennett

I use size A as an underwrap and size D as an overwrap and on the pound class you mentioned I double the overwrap...wrap it twice. If I use trim bands I use size A. Good Luck, Rick
