Good Saltwater Blank for Dolphin and Kings

Sorry for the newbie question, but I'm curious for ideas on a good spinning blank to build out for dolphins and kings (and anything else that cares to bite). I generally like a 6'6" to a 7' rod ... that's just my personal preference and I'd probably like it to be in the 20-30 lb range, roughly.

Thanks in advance for any and all advice. Again, I'm new to this and have much to learn ... blank selection seems to be the hardest part of this to me for some reason!

Frank

Seeker Hercules INS72L is a blank you have to at least try out. It would be perfect for that!!

Calstar 270-7. 7', 12-30 pound, sensitive tip, fast action, MONDO backbone. Known in many circles as the "Chevy 350 of saltwater". If you're in the "whatever bites" crowd, this is a great choice. You're getting into the size of query where the weight of rod matters less (this blank is 6.9 ounces) and it's fighting capabilities more. With the amount of hurt dolphins can put on a person the more forgiving nature of glass excels.

BTW, never be sorry for a newbie question. Everyone was a newbie at some point and those who became masters asked lots of questions. It's those who didn't that we need to worry about. You'll find this community to be one of the most helpful, open, and honest crowds around--a serious breath of fresh air given the goings on around us.

Jason nailed it. If you want to go less expensive, I've found the Mudhole e-glass live bait blanks are also excellent - and less than 20 bucks a pop, Personally I like the light ones in the 7' length, and use mono in the 12-20 lb range, although there are plenty of choices. BTW, These rods are also sometimes referred to as "pitch rods" if you are South Florida centric.
