<p>It's been quite a while sense I built anything, I've had this grip roughed out for a few years, I got the itch to finish it and little while ago.  I wish I was a good enough photographer to capture the figure in the maple, it's really pretty.</p>

Birch bark and burnt cork grip. Used a bunch of coats of Tru-oil to get a glossy finish. Jungle cock inlays. My first time using birch bark, I really like the look of it.

Used the new Phenix split reel seat, molded everything so there are no joints showing. Then painted everything candy apple red, very hard color for me to photograph.

St. Croix 4C711HMF cut down to 7'6", hacked up fuji soft touch reel seat, Batson grips with added chrome trim rings. Should be the nuts for a one peice c-rig rod.
