The same basic thing happen to me, the problem was corrected thanks to the help here on the board. You can sand the flock off, I used drywall sandpaper and took my time, your grip may end up a hair smaller in diameter. Good luck.

The RDA system was created out of necessity, if CCS had proved useful for me or others there would have been no need to create anything else, this does not mean I am bashing the CCS system as it appears to be very useful for fly rods and their builders.
I really can't fathom why so many people who aren't using either system are bashing ours? The people who created and others who use this sys

It's been over a day and only Emory apologized, thank you. If anyone has any questions feel free to post over on BFHP rods and reels board.

Do you really think that this is the first system to hang a blank a try to meaure it??????????? Come on.
Use what you like. What is the harm in trying to do something different???

EPMD the rap group? Eric and Parrish Making Dollars.
Sorry that is no help, but I don't get to use rap references very often.

I am skeptical also, it seems they are just repeating what Fuji says. Lots of companies use hype to promote things they can't prove, this is probably just another case. All that being said, they look cool and I will order some.

I cut up a regular fuji soft touch and it didn't peel, I was afraid it would, but the dremel didn't hurt it.

I will say that i have contributed a bunch of the data for rods measured for the BFHP and we aren't trying to convert anyone.
Our system was started a number of years ago well before the USSR . You can use whatever system you would like to compare blanks, we find that our system to be very simple and effective, your mileage may vary.
Steve the bare blanks would still be the same.

If you are using rubberized butt caps you don't need to leave the whole butt cap off if, just use the butt caps with the holes and put the extention throught the hole in the rubberized cork.

The SHX version was a telescoping blank. I really like the SHII and ShIII one peice blanks they also make great frog rods. I haven't used any ATC blanks they may be great blanks but they won't be the same as the Shikari blanks because they aren't built on the same mandrels, last I knew they were still in OK.
I think I remember someone on here saying Rainshadow had a blank very similar to t

Mo you stated that wonderfully and I agree with you. Also there have been many items over the years that vendors didn't have, that have been promoted on this site. It is up to Steve if he would like to reveal where he gets the cf tubing and tell us what he is using for arbors, it would be great to have this info. He has worked very hard to come up with this combo and I would understand if he w

Good points, build them the way you like. If you really want to save weight buy lighter reels, lol.
One thing I was wondering about, what are you using for arbors on the graphite TN handle? Thanks.

The extra weight difference, wouldn't this be a moot point if the rod is fished tip up as is the majority of bass fishing is done?????
Also if you want to compare apples to apples for the spinning rod handles, for the cork grip you wouldn't need a reel seat it would be a TN handle.

Ok then, I could understand if it was one batch but after the first one didn't get as hard as regular threadmaster, I took extra care to make sure I measured and mixed up the following batches correctly and none of them are as hard as the regular. How much longer to cure, hours, days i've been waiting a week???????

142. TM lite
I've mixed up 5 batches of the lite and was wondering if anyone else has had the same experience none of my batches has setup nearly as hard as regular threadmaster. I have never had a batch of threadmaster fail to setup and I am mixing the lite the same way. It has been 7 days and I can still dent the lite with a thumbnail.
I was just wondering if I got a bad batch or that the properties of

I also apply the flock after everything has been glued up and epoxied. It is a pain but doing it that way is better than having to worry about getting glue or epoxy in the flock.

For guides there is no reason you can't go with a #10 or #8 stripper and it can be single or double foot then single foots the rest of the way.
I understand about you liking the xf for casting and lure action but I would worry about loosing fish because of the xf tip. I went the total oppisite direction with my latest topwater rod, it has a super super slow action which is incredible for po

If you read my post i said I hadn't included the weight of arbors and I also measured 1.25" cork. I just double checked my weights and they are correct. The bottom line is cork will be lighter but I can live with the little added weight for the bling factor.

Emory the front threaded portion on most fuji ecsm seats does need a shim of some sort. The barrel on fuji seats have an i.d. of about 16mm. Please recheck your weights, although I do think a handle with the tubing will be a little heavier than cork.

Emory I understand what you are saying, but sometimes a little added weight toward the butt of a rod is a good thing balance wise. I was talking about the reel seat which is what the poster asked about how are you supposed to eliminate shims?
Just for information purposes I just weighed 6" of cork rings vs a 6" peice of texilium tubing and they weighed exactly the same .64oz. Now I

Emory got you. in bass fishing the rod is held tip up in most applications, the ones were you hold tip down such as crankbaits doesn't require as much sensitivity. Just so you know there is no masking tape on any of my rods, lol.

Emiory,
Thank you. I was only showing the picture because the poster asked about skeleton type baitcasting seats. He wasn't concerned about adding grips so the texilum weight doesn't matter to him and also if you don't hold the rod by the grip but by palming the reel whatever happens behind the reel seat shouldn't effect sensitivity. I don't understand about disconitnuities but how are you su
