i have a old rod, made from 2pcs blank(butt joint)
length 6ft.(4ft top section and 2ft butt section)
line rating PE#6(+/- 60lbs)
action medium hard
it's vertical jigging spinning rod
i want to rebuild it and convert to short spiral overhead stick, i'll only used the top section from this old rod
my 'comfort reel seat zone' are about 50cm from butt with additional 15cm more for foregrip. s

what kind of knot?
what brand of braid and leader?
it's very wide possibility since every braid , flouro and knot has different diameter
i think only yourself can answer your question
just make a connection with your own line and use caliper to measure it

throwing ultra light lure sometimes can cause me wind knot
never have a problem with bigger lure (in same setup)

my 1st rod that i build used LCSG frame on all it guides except tip top, it's conventional baitcasting rod
i used 1 #8 ; 4 #6 ; 5 #5,5 and 5,5 tip
this rod so heavy on the tip the only reason i dont strip and rebuild it again with another guide frame just because it is my very 1st rod that i build
it's never leave my room since i have another rod with KT frame
this rod teach me 1 thing

1 hour of baby sitting rod in drier is better then re apply finish just because 1-2 bubble in the tunnel mouth

i think mono will sink faster than braid. that's why there is new gen of braid specialized to sink for carp fishing

many japanese style vertical jigging rod has parabolic action, that will allow the blank to flex in to butt section
the reason behind stripper guide very close to the reel is to avoid line(braid) to make a contact with foregrip handle when the rod in full flex during the fight
as you can see, they are not just close but has high frame too

maybe 50% my job is rebuilding those china made rod
removing reel seat, handle and guide on those rod are very hard to do..put them on boiling water can't help...the only way to do is to cut the reel seat and replace it with the new one
