I haven't built a rod for awhile and I see Micro Guides being discussed. What are they and are they used in place of standard fly rod guides? Re: Micro Guides, What Are They?

It's a generic term for very small guides/rings, smaller than what you might consider "traditional" in appearance.
Nothing has changed insofar as proper guide size, however. You should use the smallest and lightest guides that will easily pass your connections and hold up to the task at hand. This might be a #3 or it might be a #16. It might be a single foot guide or a it might be a double foot guide. ............... Re: Micro Guides, What Are They?

4mm
Those are the original tops, the newer versions are much better. The fist ones did not have any support and if you were not careful you could bend them over. I still use them on lighter rods, But choose braced tops for heavier stuff. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
