With the advice above you may be all set. However, here's my Tiger how-to if it helps... You need two threads as a bottom layer. The colour of the lighter bottom thread provides the background of the finished tiger. IE black and gold with red over will create a red tiger over a gold background. The bottom threads MUST BE OF HIGH CONTRAST, black and white, black and silver etc. Wrap t

We have a shop locally that caters to quilters. Faced with odd colours, or just stuck as to what might look good, I have taken rods to this store and asked the girls for help.

Spiral wraps are only used on casting rods. The simple spiral wrap, with guides at 180, 90, 0 degrees works fine on bass weight rods. Right handed crankers place their guides at or 12, 3, and 6 o'clock, while left-handed crankers switch the bumper guide, at 3 o'clock, to the 9 o'clock position, so that it will face upward when you lay the rod down.

I have this 4 spool carrier. Normally the thread comes off the spool, goes left-to-right around the tensioner, under the little spring and then back out through the front thread guide. The second thread guide, near the middle of the carrier, is useful when using the right rear spool position. As I recall, one of the roller wheels on the bottom of the carriage is in a slot. By adjusting it bac

What I think you are seeing is trapped moisture. I'm going to guess you used CP and that it wasn't completely dry when the finish went on.

You might want to ask the client why they want this size guide and that keeper location. When I was selling, sometimes clients had strange or unique requests or concern, that once examined was easily resolved. People gather scraps of information and bits of datum from, who knows where?. These things might have been true once, or under certain circumstances, but might not be applicable now, or

I don't understand why you are asking the question. Do you not read English? This is a crankbait rod, rated for 1/4 to 5/8ths with 8 - 14 pound line. Small baits and a soft action... No Texas or Carolina rigs, no drop shot. Cranks, maybe frogs and Rattletraps... It's all written on the rod. What more do you need to know? .

Save your money. Unless you plan to turn wood, you don't need the power of a lathe. I used to turn wood and still have the tools and old lathe. I bought a power winder, then later, added a tool rest and tail stock to the winder. Now, I seldom use the lathe. Therefore, I would suggest that you invest in a good power winder or add the tool rest and tail stock to the winder you already

Be sure the rod is level. Finish runs down hill. Don't use too much finish. If you overload, it will sag. Work with small batches. One large batch might start to set before you reach the end. Apply the finish, then leave it alone... These finishes are self-leveling. Any touch-ups you try will work against you.

What colours are Batson showing in their catalogue pictures? Some designer got paid plenty to make the best colour choices for that photo shoot. If you E-mail Batson, they might be able to tell you what thread matches their paint. When in doubt, why not just use black? What's more elegant than that?

Make sure the rod is level. Put the finish on at moderate speed. Stop the rod and wick off sags, then let it cure at a reduced speed. Don't screw around trying to "paint" the finish sideways to fill in low spots. You shouldn't have problems with Tigers because they are basically flat. I usually just put one coat on the bottom wraps and two on the top. However, if there are d

I have a lathe, but wouldn't buy one again unless I wanted to turn wood. A couple of years ago I turned square blocks of cork and EVA on the lathe but found it messy and wasteful. Since I seldom use full handles anymore, I now use the Alps set-up for my handle work. If you are planning to use chisels, you'll need a tool rest. If you're turning handles on a mandrel, you'll need a tail stock.

Try Grey and Silver on the bottom with Pink over. I think you need to tone down the Black with a pale colour like Pink.

In my opinion, three thread tigers don't look as good as two thread ones. It's a case of less is more. With three, the bottom layer gets muddled looking.

The wrap will be the colour of the top thread. You could use silver and gray on the bottom. Red and gray might not be a high enough contrast for a good Tiger effect. I would use silver and black then do some red and gray bands to start and end the Tiger. These bands can be added after the wrap is finished and will cover the ends of the Tiger. The finish will blend it all together.

I replaced one on a blue Legend Tournament a few years ago. As I recall, I called St.Croix for details. It was a Fuji Alconite with a stainless frame. Mudhole matched it up for me.

What is wrong with your health care system that it would allow a young girl to grow up without proper reconstruction and rehabilitation? You are the richest country in the world, giving away millions in foreign aid. How can you allow a tragedy like this? Then when you get a President who pushes through universal health care, all you can do is complain... I don't understand Americans!!!

Go to the kitchen, borrow a fork...Fork tines are tapered and if you work slowly the slightly too small brass tube will stretch to fit.

Do a Tiger. Black and whatever your lightest primary color is. Overwrap with a sacrificial thread and another of your colours. This will be the color that will be seen as dominant.
