Sage markings

I received a Sage XP blank and noticed that on the inside of the female end of each section is a thin yellow and red line that runs the length of the blank. What is the purpose of this line? Does it designate the spine or straightest alignment?

Normally Sage marks the straightest axis of the sections. I would assume this is what you are looking at.

Tom: No, he is seeing the inside wall !!! There is a two line marking. yellow and white, yellow and red, and / or red and white on XP blanks.
I think it has something to do with the manufacturing process.

I believe Sage serializes there distributable blanks at the base of each blank under the finish. The blank needs to be held up to the light to see the number.

You may be correct. I was assuming he was talking about the common marks Sage uses to show the straight axis.

Gentlemen,

Thanks for your replies. The lines are on the inside of the blank.

I was told by sage that they somehow have buried inside the blank a marker of some kind that identifies what blank model it is.
