Can anyone recommend rob tubes with dividers built in for 3 pc spinning rods that are 7 feet long? Right now, I am finding Clear Creek and then there is Clear Creek.

They are taking mandrel for VI PLUS travel blank, 4 PC, 9 foot 8 weight and using Intermediate graphite. Not a standard model but with them, it appears there is no such thing!
Thanks

Anyone ever build a Talon ITM fly blank or know much about them? VI Plus?
I am having them lay up a 4 piece 9 foot 8 weight on the mandrel they use for their VI Plus (IM6) rods, but using intermediate modulus graphite. So technically, it is a VI Plus fly rod using the ITM graphite. (They had only a 9'9" 8 weight in the ITM line).
Thanks,
Tony

Jon and friends-
I want to try a spiral wrap, but I am throwing lures of 1/2 to 1 oz. which is not a lot.
Someone told me the spiral wrap was developed for heavier lure weights and the torque won't matter much at my weight range.
Any comments?
Thanks

Did you build it as a casting rod or spinning rod?
If you built as a casting rod, did you use spiral wrap or guides on top?
Thanks,
Tony

Can someone please recommend some sources of information on the different types of spiral wraps?
I have searched the board and found some discussions and lots of opinions, but looking for a step-by-step or formula on how to layout guides on a blank.
Thanks,
Tony

I am going to build on a CTS SD Elite Series blank and they can make it any length I want.
My first inclination would be to make it 7 foot, but I cannot help but ask - is there any advantage to an 8 foot spinning or casting rod?
I will be casting mostly from a boat.
Thanks,
Tony

I am usually asking questions, but Scott Parsons suggested that I share the results of an experiment where I mixed equal parts of Threadmaster Lite with the regular Threadmaster.
I mixed equal parts of the Lite resin, Lite hardener, Regular resin and Regular hardener and achieved what I sought - a finish that was thinner than the regular "high build" and had longer working time than

Talon has a 6 foot blank and they are sold through Angler's Workshop as their house brand. I am building one to throw lures 1/2 oz to 1 oz.

106. CTS Elite SD Blanks
Does anyone have experience with the CTS Elite SD Blanks for casting\spinning? I am considering one of these blanks as they have one model that meets my unique requirements - a travel blank for taking on to airplanes, to use 8-10lb. test throwing lures that are 1/2oz. to 1 1/8oz. lures without having the blank be a pool cue.
I am particularly interested in this blank - in 4 pieces.

Years ago, Andy Dear told you I had some All Star blanks and we discussed possible trading of blanks. I revisited my inventory and may have something for you. Your email address is hidden, but please contact me if you are interested.

Thanks, Todd.
St. Crox told me they tested the blanks with the SA Saltwater.

Has anyone built one of these beautiful blue blanks? I am curious as to what types of line and what weights are working best. I built the thing thinking it was a 9 weight and it seems stouter than that. One person familiar with the blank told me that at 9 weight, it goes off the charts and you will need up to a 350 grain sinking line to make it perform.
Thanks,
Tony

Hi, Spencer.
I knew you might have an idea!
If it is a fly blank, do you know what the "M" was for?
Thanks,
Tony

Howdy.
5 years ago I picked up a couple blanks from Andy Dear that I understood to be All Star blanks. They have a sticker on the butt saying RXF8610-M which seems easy to accept as a 10 weight fly rod that is 8'6". Someone at a later show told me they were spinning rods, where "M" was for Medium. I think it was a partner in the original All Star rods, Bob or Bill Brown? He

All -
I know this thread is a couple years old, but have you call cast and compared the GXT and FTXL to form opinions?
I bought a St. Croix SCV Saltwater in 9wt based on someone's opinion and really don't like how stout it is. You almost to over line it 2 weights.
I have thrown the FTXL in 10 weight and enjoy it much more.
If I were looking for a strong 8 weight or a 9 that is more

Oh, Canada.
I am looking for a 3 or 4 piece blank for the purpose of throwing 1 oz. Daredevle spoons or Len Thompson #4's (also 1 oz.).
For the last three Canadian fishing trips I have been heaving these spoons with a 3 piece St. Croix PS70MF3, 7' long, Medium Power, Fast Action, rated for 6 - 12 lb. test line and 1/4 - 5/8oz. lure weights and have been warned that repeated casting of 1 oz.

Hi, Drew.
Thanks for the information. I have bent a few running guides in my day. I don't use snake guides, so I would use running guides all the way out.
Do you think the K series would any more or less prone to getting bent in actual use.
Thanks,
Tony
