What would be easier? Putting the top guide first, or the butt and the rest of the guides first? seems to me that you would get the butt, and the other guides first, then the tip, the first rod that I repalced teh guides i left the tip on since it was doing ok. just need some advice , this is my first rod starting from the beginning.

Me niether, this rod is really long, when i get to the end there is no way i can hold the rod, I have it ona small vise grip, so if i start at the tip I don't know how I will take off the foam pad??

I just wipes down a 7'6" rod with Lumiseal, I've notice some parts that missed, I used a foam pad from a 4 inch foam brush, I started from the but end to the tip, some bubbles, and missed parts I wet sanded the bubbles with 1000 sand paper, that came out alright, does anyone have any suggestions how to wipe without the misses and the bubbles, I wiped it pretty quick, so I don't think thats t

On my wrapping my first rod I used Diamond 2, from Bullards, it worked really good, I don't know about the other epoxy's I haven't tried them yet, I'm waiting for the Lumiseal for this next rod, to finish the whole rod I have just painted with Duplicolor, I'm thinking I might put a light coat of Lumiseasl on the wraps, then the Diamond 2, I will probably use a red sable brush for the wraps, I'll

Scott,My first one, was rewrapping the guides on my St, Croix rod, they turned out pretty good considering it was my first wrap job, and this next one is starting from a blank from MHX, crank bait rod 7'6", I'm just painted it, and sanded it down smooth, now I'm waiting for the Lumiseal and some other components, I'll let you know when i really get started, I'll send you some pics e-mail, of

Does anyone know if Laquer paint job on a rod will hold up to Lumiseal? Iv'e painted 2 rods with a ready to spray laquer Dupli-color paint, and want to put a coat of Lumiseal.

I 've just painted 2 rods, with Dupli-Color paint, would I need to put on a clear coat, like say Miniwax Helmsman Spar Urethane Clear Gloss, before I put on the Lumiseal? I was going to coat it with the Lumi seal, but read about someone saying to put on the clear coat first, can someone give me some advice on this? Thank You.
