after scuffing rod for application of PG or LS, should I or not, wipe it off with like with alcohol, or should I just brush off the rod? I was told before but was kind of busy so it is hard to remember.

would a butt guide of 5mm, and then4's then 3mm, all the way to the tip, be to small for a 7'10' flippin rod spiral wrapped?

I told him I think it looks really good, It's different then what iv'e been used to seeing, but he wants it done over, I'm thinking of putting a wrap, then putting a CP, then PG, will that hide the feet, without redoing?

My friend, just finished wrapping some Batsons size 4mm guides on his lime colored rod, he used lime thread and silver trim, he didn't think that the guidses feet would show through that clearly, so, is there any way he can cover those guides feet, with the same color? so that the feet will not show through.?

will nickle or metal trim rings bond with the rod using Rod Bond, after I scuff the part rod the rod where the trim ring will go?

I could of just called Batsons and asked them my ?, but, isn't this forum for info, on such concerns? and as for the volume of my rod building, I would of answered that ? if asked. just my way of not looking like a nosey person. you're right in the first palce I should of called Batson.

I sanded teh rod with a 2000 sand papoer wet, then cleaned twice with denatuired alcohol, then wiped the rod with a piece a foam from a foam brush, I looked at the rod a few minutes later, i can not see no shine, like ny friends rod when he wiped his rod, what did i do wrong?

Tom, you've got me wanting to try the u-40, so i just ordered me some, I'll have to compare it to the Diamond 2 brush cleaner, I'm sure that both are good cleaners, I just need something that will clean PG off of the brush. Thank You!

I really don't know, but, thats one thing I will certainly have to do, is subscribe to the RodBuilders mag. Thank You! I have noticed on those factory rods like St Croix, they look like they have like a thin epoxy finish, cause it's different then the ones that are finished with like Pg or LS, and sometimes a lot smoother! I wonder what do they use, an epoxy with a thinner and a hardener?

I was looking at my ST.Croix rod, it has 9 plus tip and it is only a 7' rod, and they are not micros, but they are those nickle titanium guides which is light and one of the main reasons I had bought the rod. and it hasd a really good at the hook set, I had hook plenty of bass with that rod, its a med, fast and also got a med heavy, both do a great job at hook sets, so like you said it to the b

744. broken rod. sleeve?
My friend broke his Castaway 6'6", 2 inches above the reel seat, trying to take the seat off, using pliers, how would sleeve, I really don't know what to call it, its to hold the 2 parts together, then I would wrap it, maybe with a tiger wrap, and hope that it will hold, he is really to busy to work on it, so i thiought I will give him a hand.

I was just thinking, after the tiger wrap, and decorative wrap on front of reel seat, it wouldn't matter so much, and that will I got them i might as well put them on, I will do the static test, and make up my mind. I probably will just keep them for next rod.

I have asked if 12, 2mm guides plus tip, would be to many for 7'6" MHMF crankn rod, So, what I'm asking is why? Is it the weight? I nave no idea!

I will try that its has to be cause I did that in the garage, so i really don't know what got on it, but i will try that, clean the rod , I guess with denatured alcohol, or Isophyl alcohol, then take it and try it again, hopefully it will stick, almost out of lumiseal, got a come PG left from laat time, might try that, if not enough of LS. Thank You.

Yep, then on the 3rd coat it finally got some on the rod, I'm thinking maybe I should of used a smaller square of an piece of foam, I really soak the foam, I think I used more then I should of to make sure it stuck, but after three try's I think it's as good as it will get, not as smooth as the factory ones I have, but I'm almost out of Lumiseal, any suggestions on what I should do next, should

I tried the rod on the dowel and poke a hole throught the 4" by 3" foam part of a foam brush, it worked on one rod but when I got to the other and tried the same thing, the Lumiseal would not stick, so i tried lightly scuff with a scotch pad, and to no avail, would someone give me any ideas or solve this problem for me, PLEASE!

Would 12 plus tip 2mm micros be to many for a 7'6" MHMF cranking rod, and how would I space them, all the same distance?
