2911. Re: what a mess!
Late night... two piece rod. Finish all the guide wraps. Put it on the dryer... Carefully apply epoxy to all the threads & go to bed. Next morning it's looking really good. Nice smooth finish, no bubbles - even across the ferrule which is now cemented together.

I "think" (not sure / haven't seen one) that the American Tackle "Matrix" series blanks have that.

Interesting about wrapping the male end of the ferrule. I've been doing that anyway to provide a "balanced look" to the rod (even when separated) and also so I can insert an alignment thread to mark where they sections should be joined to align the guides. Now I'll feel even better about having done that - Thanks Todd.

2916. Re: Boron Rods
The boron rods that I remember were quite brittle and had a tendency to snap. What would be "interesting" would be blank constructed of boron in the base/butt section of the blank with reduced composition (percentage) toward the tip (?replaced with graphite?).. Similar to Ugly Sticks with clear fiberglas tips only grapite to the tip. The added weight in the butt would likely be rendere

Mix by volume (syringes, kitchen measuring spoons, pumps). Mix thoroughly (at least a minute). For High/heavy build pour it out onto a sheet of aluminium foil curled up at the edges (that will release more bubbles in the finish and retard hardening giving you some extra working time). Apply in thin(ner) coats. High Build finish you may only need one - but that coat still should not b

12 custom made stand-up trolling/stand up rods for a tournament fisherman - every roller tip top installed 180degrees off. They got all the way to the customer who called me back to ask if this was a "new technique" ... Duh-OH.

Likely a "freak accident" ... Are you SURE you didn't mix two of the same part? (I've done that before through carelessness/being inattentive). The gram scale ... Hmmmm, most people measure by volume not weight. I don't know if that matters or not - the stuff should be about the same weight(?). What's most doubtful is that it is the fault of the epoxy. Some are very finicky about 50/5
