Well.....I am a little disappointed. I used 2 different mfgr's size D thread for the blue and black and they were different diameters which caused some problems. This rod is for me so it is a lesson learned.

My first try at scales. I did it on a dowel and the soft wood did not allow me to pack much. I will put some finish on the dowel in the future. I think it would look better elongated a bit.....will that enhance the effect? Any comments would be appreciated.

So....I am doing a cross wrap on a Jets rod for a gift for a buddy of mine. He saw another 3D box I did and really liked it so I did it on this one too. My dilemma is....I read a thread where Billy V mentioned you could keep the last threads of an open wrap tight by adding a few extra threads to lock them in...applying CP and sacrificing them later.
