I have been using the same bottle of color preserver made by American Tackle for at least 15 years now, I bought a jumbo bottle of it at the time on sale, I believe from Merrick Tackle, It's the water base type. Still works great to this day. I suggest you give it a shot on a sample wrap.

Horrocks-Ibbotson was one of America's largest production rod companies for many years, competing head to head with Montague and South Bend. This company that came to be known as the World's Largest Manufacturer of Fishing Tackle traces its history to 1812 but did not become involved with fishing tackle until 1863 when an English immigrant named James Horrocks was hired as a clerk. In 1894, Edwar

Sounds, Like what is commonly used in the aerospace metal finishing industries, known as {passivating} of the material, removing any microscopic iron particles in the surface that commonly occur in the making manufacturing and in the machining or stamping process of stainless, And yes those microscopic iron particles will cause rusting. It's not a coating at all. More like a surface conversion or

I have the Same problem with orders out of Texas,?? Tracking numbers just seem to stall in these states, Sometimes for days, I truly believe It's {lack} of USPS and UPS shipping terminals

You could probably downsize quit a bit Per Batson Guides & Space Chart, sizes 12-10-10-8-8-7 to the tip, Whitch by the way has been pretty darn accurate for me, They do know their blanks, As they build on them as well as us. Our are you talking spinning guides???? Like I Think Whats the Reel Spool Size?? Yours is the second one down SWS70L

About the only Fuji reel seats, I really like and use personally are the

OK Steve, Just trying to help here, I went threw something similar when I first started, And these fellows years back helped me thru it just by reading and asking questions. So I,m going out on a limb here. Let just say you may in fact be seeing some type of fish eye problem, Not a bad one, but a Nagy one that pops up occasionally, from rod to rod? I have had that, Do you live in a single floor h

I have built a few in the past, Using the Fuji plate seats wrapped on carbon handles. I let the customer choose the location with his reel. I was impressed with the build quality and how they locked down tight.

I know most all here will disagree with this, But I use expanding polyurethane glue on {Butt grips only after assembling your rings with titebond-III and reaming } It fills any voids if there happens to be any, It's lighter and every bit as durable as epoxy, I started using it on my personal rods with long grips and Never had a problem with a loose rear grip, I actually feel I get a better bond w

I don't wrap sanding belt, I use Coarse Silicon Carbide grit with {JB weld} on my tapered mandrels. The key to getting it stick so it stays put, Is Washing the grit with Dawn detergent to remove the dust and any oil in a screen colinder. Let it dry in the oven, Coat your mandrels with JB and roll them in your grit. I have some that have lasted more than a year with regular use. The key for me is

So I received an email for Batson's new ultimate reamer, Dang that's one pricey reamer!! Or self defence weapon as I'm sure it would work great for that. Here's their link, Prices are {per reamer} not the set. Not sure where their mind-set was at with this and it's pricing, But I won't be owning one. I love their products. But this is over the top for me.
