Unless you plan on building on the same blank your whole life, I agree with Roger, Set It Up and due a static test, {With a Load on the Blank} It won't Lie, I do this with every Blank I build on the first time. I record my data, And if I happen to build on the same blank again 8 months from now, I set-up with my data, And Still give it a static test again! As you never Know if any changes have be

Have you given any thought to a Plate reel seat like this? It gets wrapped on like you want, And you can still remove the reel when you need to do maintenance or want to change it out. I have several on carbon fiber Tennessee handles, And are strong and tight and work great.

I agree That would be an American Tackle's Problem not Mudholes problem, You can only provide information that the manufacture supplies you with. And you can't expect Mudhole to pay an employee a days wage to sit their and measure them all for American Tackle, Because the manufacture that makes them won't Even list the sizes on their own wed site?? Sometimes manufacture's are their own worst

138. Re: First Rod Build
Have you considered using the Micro wave air guides? There pretty slick and work great not expensive! Especially easy for a new Successful builder, Very easy to set-up, Just follow the directions, And they work nice and smooth, I have more then a few people ask specifically for these guides on rods I build for them.

2K clear coat should work, test a spot first to make sure it's compatible, It would be cheaper. it is automotive clear coat.

If this is the paint you used? I would say you don't need to do anything. Unless you want a clear topcoat? . That's top notch paint so you should be good to go! Just my 2 cents. Cheers Jaa
