They'll be fine & as stated above just make sure that the salt is washed after use .I've built heaps rods using them & have yet to have a problem .I tell my customers that if they want to keep it rust free to "Have a shower with it " .That gets laughs but enforces the culture of cleaning after use .

I always use syringes that come from one of the sponsors on the left .I always leave the syringes in the bottle except to replace & empty bottle .The current syringes have been in use for around the 5 year mark & have had their bottles changed somewhere in the region of 15 times & that would be a conservative estimate.I would be worse off by using the weight method as the cost of scal

I use embroidery thread more or less exclusively & the thread can put up a fight .For me the answer was 1. good prep on the feet . 2 The tension that the thread was under & 3 rolling the thread prior to to putting the cp on .Then I use a laptop microscope to check for why gaps I missed So far most rods come away spot on

I've never had to wait more than a week & a half & I've received orders within the week the order was placed .I would be contacting them by email or phone if the order was that late. I'm surprised that there is no tracking of the order & as Scott has said the freight costs are astronomical & that is purely down to the freight company.

G'day Wayne I have used Gutermann thread at times & had no problem with it at all .The only reason that I don't use it now is simply because the store I used stopped carrying it & I now use either Mettler or Maderia .If fact any polyester embroidery thread seems to work .I use the embroidery threads on both guide wraps & dec wraps & again never a problem .The thread is a tick smal

G'day Jason I have a Caldia 3000 on a rod of mine with an Alps Tri seat & never had a moments problem I set all my own rods up in a downlocking position simply because of the problems that your customer is experiencing .I spent a large part of my life employed in an industry that had a lot of machines that vibrated & that is why I set my rods up the way I do .

G'day William as Ken has stated any of those embroidery threads will work .They appear to have 2 sizes being 40 & 60 those sizes are a length to weight EG: 40 kilometres of thread weighs 1 kg & the 60 being longer therefore thinner .The 40 is a tic smaller in diameter than A but the breaking strain is also a tick lower but not enough to worry about .As Robert has said only the Poly will w

G'Day Roger I have one of the early upgraded chucks without the set screw. There was a problem that I had of the blank dropping out of the chuck, until I realised it was due to either the supports not in line with the chuck & it wasn't parallel to the centre line of the chuck .After I sat down & measured those two thing I found my blanks were not being set up parallel to the centre line

G'Day John I use embroidery threads for all my wrapping & have never had a problem in the 8 years iv'e been using them. The problem is with the silicon that is impregnated in the thread to make it run through the high speed embroidery machines . I always use CP on my threads & not once have I had a problem .The breaking strain is slightly lower than the A thread but it is only a couple of

G'Day John I use magnetic Tensioners on my wrapper .I use 2 ring magnets with the magnetic poles axially opposed .They have a 6 mm hole in the centre & fit on a 6 mm stainless steel rod the magnetic force is opposed to put pressure on the thread spool & my locking system is a 6 mm drill stop & locked on with a allen key .I run my thread tension at 101 grams purely because I find that

G'Day Frank If you have a look in a couple of retailers that handle embroidery thread you may find some .I use embroidery thread for everything & I have some variegated /space dyed thread, unfortunately none in orange / black . If you find some & decide to use it it is imperative to use CP or you could run into problems & as Denis pointed it is time consuming trying to repeat the pat

I had the same problem a quite a few years ago & my solution was to use "Drill stops"that are held on by small grub screws .Even though I've upgraded to an Alps wrapper with my home made thread carriage & magnetic tensioners they are still used .The allen key is housed in a small hole drilled in the thread carriage & to date has not been replaced

G'day Geoff There's a few of us on here unfortunately most don't post these days .It was a bit of luck that I picked up on your post ,I was replying to a mate in Marylborough who is also a rod builder & I happened across your post .I guess that I will give the Renzetti a miss .I suspected that the freight costs would be horrendous .& then the added costs of replacing the motors & pro

G'Day Geoff Renzetti have a heap of dealers in OZ .If you go to their web page & enter the state you live in .You will be presented with a list of dealers in you state . If it was me I'd be going to the closest to home armed with the broken belt . I reckon it will cost more if you can source locally but you will save in time . G'Day SteveI made my own thread carriage & the wheels I used are from sliding doors 25mm from memory .They dont run on the edge like the originals but sit further down between the lip & the base .One thing to remember is to elongate the centre wheel to allow adjustment .When I was making it I did away with friction tensioners & used magnetic discs that are set to repel rather than att

G'Day Donald 1 reason as Chris stated Rayon will give you fuzzies & 2 it is not as strong as the polyester .Another side issue I find is that that the polyester threads appear to have more shine to them .AS for Pro Wrap I not had good results with it .It maybe that I have a bad bunch & that's all I say because I don't want to bag a sponsor on a couple of reels of thread

G'Day Ed I've been using embroidery threads for some time now around 6-7 years & never had a problem with them .I use them for my guide wraps also & despite the best efforts of my son non have ever let go That said I normally build 8-10 lb rods as they are in demand in my location I guess that there a tick over 100 rods that I have wrapped. As for cp I use it religiously s.as the thread co
