My solution was somewhat different in that I sliced the grip along the axis (I couldn't work out how to plug the hole ). I then placed a couple of toothpicks in the slice to keep it open & then used a syringe filled with a 24hr epoxy thinned with Isopropyl Alcohol . After I injected enough epoxy I then used Contact Cement to seal the slit ,let it sit for a couple of days gave it

G'Day Col. I use "O" rings for this I just slip them under the ring & bind up to the guide & then cut the "O" ring off .The cost of the "O" rings are minuscule when you weigh up the cost of a new guide + the time spent looking for them & preping a new one when you can't find the missing one. I buy the "O" rings from Supercheap for around $12.00

I've only done this a couple of times & both times I spiral cut the seat with a hacksaw (take your time doing this) & asI cut through a small section I heated the seat with a hot air gun to soften the epoxy . Once that section was done I rotated the rod about 20 deg & started the process again until the job was completed , about 1 to 1.5 hours to make the cuts & clea

I get my coloured EVA sheets from Riot Craft at Miranda but they have stores throughout OZ ,also try spotlight they have a lot of eva cut out figures that you can use also . I cut my rings a little on the large side as Col does but use contact cement also with no glue lines. I dont clamp as I have found it was not necessary when using contact cement . I then leave the grip for about 1/

I had the same problem with my Alps wrapper . My solution was to make sure the rod was laying parallel to the bed ( I use a laser beam for this ) & then I wrap 2 rubber bands joined together around the blank & anchor them around the back of the chuck . This has solved my problem completely

I hane used 24 hr epoxy for a number of years without any problems . I know some of the rods are still holding up after about 10 years . As I have used the 24 hr epoxy I have no idea how the 5 or 10 min concoctions hold up

I had the same problem with my Aps wrapper ,tried the rubber band solution & it extended the time it took for the blank to work itself out . The next thing I tried was to make sure that the center line of the blank was the same as the center line of the wrapper , to accomplish this I used a laser level . This and the rubber band have solved all my problems . When setting the rod up f

Dan's correct in stretching the "O"ring .You can stretch them a great deal before they will break ,the trick i found was to roll them rather than slide . I also cut a small groove in the rear of the grip to match the front & they didn't look out of place
hope this helps

I had the same problem awhile back & I used a colored "O" ring to fill the gap .The reason for the color was because the grip was colored also
Hope this helps

I had the same problem with my Alps rod wrapper . The solution I used was to couple two rubber bands together & wrap then around the blank securing the two ends around the ends of the chuck jaws . Prior to doing this I tried all of the above solutions & found this easier to use & setup .
Also as mentioned above make sure your blank center line of the blank is parallel
