Tom,
Is that the CCS data? If not could you point me to a place where the data for these rods is? Been about 10 years since I thought about this stuff, I see the CCS stuff is now a complete site.

Interesting two people who compare the blank speed completely the opposite of each other! I guess I'm going to have to build one and see for myself.

Thank you that's exactly what I was looking for. I sometimes forget people build other rods besides fly rods. ;-)

It's really fantastic how the industry has embraced women. She showed up at my house with a sketchbook, complete with thread colors, wrap designs, handle design, matching reel seat. It was a very cool rod to build, and it matches her reel, waders, boots, and back pack - Never had to do that before! Definitely gave me a lot of new things to play with.

Has anybody built on both these and MHX? I just built my second MHX and am loving it, but I do like the color choice option.

My girlfriend went to a United Women on the Fly event which was featured on NBC news, and the rod I made her made the thumbnail, you can also see it briefly in the clip. It's out of focus, but still...

I did every one of those things and I have a milky finish.
Too bad, I had high hopes, but I cannot risk another inlay.

Super frustrated. I'm going to try to sand it down and maybe expoy over it. Thanks for all of the technical and moral support.

So this is going to go away?
I really want to go away from epoxy, but I'm really disappointed in this stuff. It was terrible to apply.

I finished a rod last week and brought it home to NH. I covered the inlay in Threadmaster 1. I hiked it in and fished it, then put it in the sock and tube, no issues when I put it away. This morning, all the wraps were milky white! This went away 99% today, but WTH? Anybody with experience/advice?
I guess it's back to epoxy for me. Can I epoxy over this stuff?

You guys figured it out. I just followed directions!
Interesting that I've looked at a lot of tutorials and never seen this tidbit.

I think I undersold just how bumpy this was. I can trim nubbins and such, but I had to sand the whole thing.
However, it came out like glass. I should've been doing this a long time ago.

Trimming sounds super scary. I'm going with sanding. Thank you!

How have I never run across this tip! Thank you. What grit do you use?

I did a pretty fancy feather inlay and put 2 coats of epoxy over it, but it's still all lumpy and bumpy. What's the answer? More epoxy? Seems like that would just accentuate the highs. Application? Can I sand it down between coats?
Thank you!

Looking for a cordura tube cover which is customizable. If that comes with a tube, all the better.

I already get some great custom tubes but I was wondering if anybody had a source for custom covers? This would really let me branch out in colors.
Something like this is what I'm looking for:

One of the sites, I really believe in their mission: rods for women made by healing water vets, I just can't back their product, but I don't want to knock it either.

What?! It doesn't cover gaps and bad packing. It does work great on dark backgrouds.

I work in software, and everywhere is the same: the lack of craftsmanship. If you want a $200 Rod, TFO and Allen make great rods with high craftsmanship. I bought an Allen rod, reel, line, and case for $150 that is an amazing set up. Therefore, if you are going to go "custom" with your rods, craftsmanship seems implicit. But like so many things blanks have moved from the specialized rea

I wish it was easier to post images here. I don't want to put a link up as that seems bad form. I'll email you.
Lynn, your email is hidden. Please email me if you would like a link.
