What effect does reel spool size have on spacing for the butt guide? I have a set on hand for my next build, and am thinking I want to build for a 30 size Quantum Energy PT reel. This is the reel from my collection with the largest spool diameter.

Joe, I would get a few quotes, from rodbuilders in your area, to replace the rods you lost. That would give the insurance company something to work with. Or, give them a few links to rodbuilder's websites and let them do some research.

Thanks Ken, for letting me know I'm not completely off my rocker. I had come to the conclusion that this was not epoxy but had no idea what it could be. I'm trying to remove the thread wraps from an early 90's Daiwa rod. This stuff won't budge. I got an email from a forum member, detailing the procedure. Thanks again Kerry. I

I have a Loomis Bronzeback spinning rod in for repair. The rear cork grip looks fine and seems secure. Ditto for the cork foregrip. The reels seat is loose, and will rotate on the blank maybe 120 degrees. I have read an article somewhere stating that to fix this without a complete re-build was possible by drilling into the reel seat, and working some adhesive into the area. Where do I drill
