To expand a little on Marc's awesome instructions. Being a newbie you may want to use an old spinning reel to line up your hoods for a perfect fit. But eyeballing will get you very close.

John,
I say this in jest, but I both disagree and agree with your signature saying. Yes Rodbuilding is therapy, but cheaper...........I doubt it. Sooner or later you will need therapy for the Obsessive Compulsive Disorder that follows!!! LOL

159. Re: EXPO excitement
Pete,
Your excitement is well placed!! You'll learn more in this one weekend than you would in 10 years on your own. One suggestion I will make, if you haven't already, subscribe to RodMaker Magazine to help you keep up with what's going on. As Tom has said many times, most if not all of the major manufacturers keep subscriptions. That should tell you something!!!

Billy,
Funny you would think about me on this one!! ROFLMBO!!!! I think we'll be OK this year!! None of those multi color exotic thread colored tuxes. Whoops, shouldn't say that, it's hard to tell what Doc will show up in!! LOL!!!!!!
PS: Anyone who wasn't in Charlotte the last year the Expo was there, and wants in on the inside joke, get with me and Billy or anyone else that was th

I agree with Roger on the surform file. It takes the cork down VERY quickly. But, I have found that a tool introduced by Bill Stevens, the foot callous remover found at most of the big box stores and pharmacys in the foot care section, works very well and you can controll the cut a little better. They usually come with the cheese gratet style callous remover on one side and sand paper on the

Tom,
I have a question about articles written for the magazine. Now this mainly has to do with volumes that are out of print and not available on CD. Here goes: Do the authors of the article have copyright control of the article or is that given up once it is submitted to you and printed? My point being, couldn't one in need of a certain article email the author and get a copy emailed to

To add to Tim's post: I have an Alps 1000. It works way better on Windows 98SE. I have a lap top just for this purpose. Get the Alps driver also, It's not available for online download.

Billy will probably know more about this than me. But, I would think that if you use a small foam paint roller to spread your contact cement, you might get a very tight bairly noticable glue line for making thicker rings out of the 1/8" stuff. Whatcha think Billy?

Just so Tom won't get the heat for saying it: If folks would use them, it probably wouldn't be a question of them being there the next time!! Remember, no disrespect intended, just an observation from when Tom was first contemlating setting this years Expo up. ( past posts )

One more option is just to just pick up a cork bottle stopper at your local hardware store.

Andy,
Tapp Plastics pigment was the other that I was trying to think of last night. You might also look at Pearl - Ex Powder Pigments. You do a search on here for them to find info and places to get them. I've only gotten them from the infamous @#$%& site. Tons of neat colors.
