hi Spencer.. I'm located in South East Asia.. while we do have rod building items available, we are quite limited in what we have.. i wouldn't mind ordering the items online, but sometimes the postage can kill .. (especially when it comes to blanks... the postage climbs higher).. i would presume, that once I selected my blank, i would have to purchase the guides, seat and miscellanous items onl

While I've heard of building light spinning rods on fly blanks.. has any one built fly rods using spinning/casting blanks? I dont really fly fish (yet...), but am a bit interested in trying to build a 6' or 7', 2/3 wt. Fly blanks are not really available locally, especially in light weights, so I am considering to perhaps build on a spinning or casting blanks..

bill : for now , i used my label printer to label it accordingly.. donald : red for epoxy glue ? i have the 5 min glue in 4oz bottle, and 1 oz bottle of lite.. but not sure why, i have red for the 2oz bottle too!. those are definitely rod finish though.. Roger : i am considering if i should throw it.. or perhaps use it when i want to try my hands on crafting lures ? I have 4oz bottles of

hi .. i think i came across a post that mentioned if you mixed up resin and hardener of high and lite build, it doesnt really matter? i have 2 sets (1 high build, 1 lite) of 2oz with yorker caps, with most of the words rubbed off from each of the bottle.. i can tell the resin apart because the lite is blue and the high build is red.. i have a problem with the hardener as both of the bottles a

havent done any kind of wraps yet, but i think it should be a 1 up 1 down wrap.. 25 wraps in one direction would give you a solid line in that direction instead of the intersection as seen in the picture

havent been spending decades at rod building, but what i read was that, what we consider to be the current top grade cork right now would have been considered 2nd or 3rd class in yesteryears

larger quantities of flammable product would have to be packed in accordance to the DGR regulations, in proper UN bottles and carton boxes with the necessary declarations (DGR cert).. shipping multiple bottles of permagloss in a single carton is not allowed as the limited quantities exception is based on per package basis. as mentioned earlier, I am not sure if there is any change to the reg

If there is no change to the IATA DGR regulations, the small bottle of perma gloss, could be considered as limited quantity of flammable (class 3) cargo, could be transported by air.. but of course, i am not too sure about the regulations in the states as i think it's more stringent..

i'm not sure of the procedures overseas, but normally, the courier/forwarder cannot be held accountable for contents of the package if it is considered clean and in good condition. If there were no visible external indications that damage has taken place on the packing, then in the event where the item discovered damaged later on, the courier/forwarder cannot be held liable as they would not have

out of curiousity, does the thickness of the back board matter? i've requested that the back board be only 10mm thick after figuring that all it does is to ensure the ruler like thingy sits against it to ensure that it ends right over the middle of the v-groove

Tom, just curious , whereabouts in US do you mail out the RMM CDs from ? I work in the freight line and have a number of offices in the US and i am considering to perhaps order the CD and ship it to one of my colleagues, provided he can send it in a pouch to me

thanks lou .. i think i'll stick with 12" at the moment as i have never done wraps before, and if everyone makes them 12", i'll just follow it for the moment. I just realisd that there are dimensions in Dale Clemen's rod building book.. i guess i can start from there

call me stingy, but i was wondering what are the dimensions of the decorative wrap layout jig from flexcoat? I am intending to get one or 2 made in acrylic over here in Singapore as bringing the jig in is not cost effective for me. i am presuming the following : base : length 12" width 4" thickness 1" v-groove gap 45 degrees, starting from 2 1/2" and hopefully

Guys, i have a question.. tried searching the forum but came out with too many results, which didnt really answer the question... I have rod bond, purchased 2+ yrs ago. I recently took out rod bond (it has been in a cool dark corner of my room for the last one and half yrs) and noticed that it has kind of thicken up to something like frozen jello for both parts.. I believe it is still usa

i dont really sell anything, but i believe it is your right not to sell if both parties cannot come to a conclusion on the service or goods that will be traded.. you fix the price on the item you want to sell .. if he doesnt agree, then no deal.. he cannot sue, nor force you to do something that you do not agree upon as the seller .. even if you mark up the price 5 times and will not compr
