"Let the finish "creep" all it wants. Wait until the stuff is just starting to gel a bit and then take a rag wetted with alcohol and touch the corner to the grip at a point where you want a nice, crisp edge. Hold the alcohol soaked rag corner right there and rotate the rod 360 degrees.

i agree! flexcoat arbors are easy and fast...just glue the arbor in the seat then ream out to whatever size you need and glue it to the blank...does

check out Gator Glass blanks! mudhole sells them and they are CHEAP but VERY very strong E-glass blanks...and $10-50 is about what they run for not on sale (example: 8' 15-40lb $20.89)
i have a couple rods built on gator glass blanks and they take a beating

i have a gator glass 30-50 that would probably do pretty good(it might sound pretty heavy but its got nice power and is great for 20-30lb amberjacks) so i imagine it would be fun for small tuna...the blank is like 6'9 and although it isnt the lightest blank it is rock solid and like $35 so it wont break the bank

i use the u-40 color lock 2. when i apply it looks like it isnt there also and when i put the finish on none of the thread turns translucent...i dont think it should look like a dry thread like when it came off the spool but more shiny...wait till someone else chimes in first though as ive only use CP 1 time so far

is the hardener being orange normal? the LS supreme i had the hardener was orange but the threadmaster ive got now the hardener is clear

when they fit loose like that i do the 5 min epoxy thing but i turn the rod butt up and tip down and put something under it to hold the tip on...then the epoxy doesnt run out and it will not come off
now im going to do it jims way though as that sounds easier

my gator glass was way off at least 3/4 inch and i built with the curve up and when it was done it was straight

i like to keep the spinning rods for lighter baits(1/16-1/4) and a casting reel for everything above that

they were marked haha...right after he got done putting the stuff in a cup he looked down and saw a yellow cap and noticed he was using a black marked syringe lol
hes kinda out of it cause he takes some pain killers or something for cancer so half the time he does something he isnt thinking...guess i should tell him to get a few packs of syringes now

i just used coats and clarks trilobal white on a black blank with u-40 color lock 2 Color preserver and threadmaster finish...it stayed pure white without the black from the blank coming through
not sure if thats what you mean though

i got some threadmaster finish and like it a lot!
i had almost a full 4oz kit of LS Supreme still so i gave it to my friend to use because i like the threadmaster better and he mixed some up tonight...well he used the hardener syringe on the resin and the resin syringe on the hardener! hes going to throw out the syringes and get new ones but will the epoxy and hardener be alright?(you know th
