I am ready to epoxe my latest rod and will be using Glass Coat which works very well for me.
I may run out before the project is completed and was wondering if I would encounter any problems using LS Supreme I have left as a final coat or two if necessary after the previous coats of Glass Coat are cured well. I am not sure if the chemical composition of the different products will interfere with

Works good for me with 8 guides. No line contact at all.
You may try spacing the guides a little differently.

Gentlemen:
I dont know whats wrong with me but,I am doing my first chevron and it is complete. Now I have decided to take it a step farther and make a reversing chevron and cant figure it out.
I can see the wrap direction required but it appears that I have to wrap the new reversing threads on top of the current chevron threads which doesnt make sense to me.
I am sure it is a very simple proc

I am almost done with a cross wrap on my rod and there a couple of areas i would like to adjust and pack the threads.
In your experience if I put a dab of Chromaseal at those points and I am using metallic thread will the thread colors be different in those areas after I apply the epoxe?
Thank you for any input.

Gentlemen:
If I use a dab of cp on the crosses, will that possibly change the color of the thread where the cp was applied?
(using all metallic thread and I have Chromeaseal cp).

I am about to start on a new rod using a cross wrap, and before I have always laid down a base wrap and have done my cross wrap on top of the base wrap.
This time the cross wrap will go directly on the black blank. I am concerned about the wrap possibly slipping on the blank. The cross wrap will be all metallic so no cp is required and I would prefer not to use it.
Am I worrying for nothing or

Gentlemen :I am laying out the spacing for a deco butt wrap with probably some form of diamonds or chevrons.
The deco portion will be about 180 mm long and I would like to make the tie down wrap closest to the fore grip about 70 mm.This would give me room for a name decal and a couple of inlays.
My question is would this tie down wrap be to long or look out of proportion to the deco wrap?

I am building a salt water rod for my grandson. It will have a rubber/vinyl butt cap with a recess on the end about 3/16" deep and 3/4" wide. I plan to print out a decal or logo on white decal paper , spray the decal with Krylon fixatif or a similiar sealer , glue it to the bottom of the recess and fill in the balance of the recess with casting resin or thread wrapping epoxe.
Do you thi

Gentlemen:
I very seldom use cp due to the instability of cp or my ignorance of proper application techniques( I am an amatuer) I normally use a metallic base wrap and regular nylon guide wrap and like the results. However my latest project requires cp and regular nylon thread to retain the desired color.
I purchased a bottle of chromeaseal and this stuff worked flawless on my test wrap. A

100. Re: Butt Cap Deco !
Question:
Will a casting resin or thread wrap epoxe stay in place in the recess and adhere to the rubber/vinyl recess in the butt cap or are there steps to insure that it does adhere and not fall out?
Thanks again,
Tom

101. Butt Cap Deco !
My grandson and I are building his first saltwater rod.
On the end of the butt cap there is a recess of about 3/16" deep and 7/8" diameter . I was thinking about putting a decal, coin, fish hook or some other deco in the recess and filling the recess with thread wrapping epoxe.
Is this possible?
Has anyone tried this before ?
Any input or suggestions are appreciated.
Thank yo

Gentlemen:
I see Gudebrod has a new color out 9653 light blue metallic and I am looking for a color to go with 5032 royal blue metallic braid.
In the catalog it looks a little green or turquoise. And I am looking for a sky blue or robyns egg blue. Has any one tried this color yet? Just wondering if the catalog color is true to the color in real life.
Thank you for any input.

Gentlemen:
I am going to purchase some Chromaseal color preserver. It sounds like a great product.
My Question is , I still have some L S Supreme and some Glass Coat epoxe left that I would like to use and want to know if the Chromaseal is compatable with these two products.
Thanks again for your help.
