Hey Kevin,
I have built a BUNCH of crankbait trolling rods on the St. Croix blank (8 foot, medium power, telescoping, don't emember the model number, look on the webite in the SCII or SCWII area). They are used primarily for pulling planer boards with cranks attached for the walley pros. Most of the pros want a pair of 10 foot, then pair of 9 foot, then a pair of 8 footers to help cut down on li

Richard,
Another point I forgot to add in the first post, is if you ever had to convince someone about using the spiral wrap instead of guides-on-top the demo rod is the way to go. I have 3 musky demo rods, the only time I ever see them is in the winter.

I'm going to have to go with Janns I guess. Really bugs me when I have to replace inferior parts with the same inferior parts but the customer wants them to "look the same" regardless of what I say.

Ok,
I am going to try this again. The guides needed are the somewhat newer guides with the metal, not ceramic inserts that are being used by Pure Fishing Corp which makes Berkley, Fenwick, and Abu Garcia rods.
I called Pure Fishing. They will not tell me where they buy their parts from. They referred me to Jann's. Jann's has them but does not sell their parts at wholesale.

Ken,
They are breaking the frame right where it starts to be wrapped onto the guides. The baitcasting rods with the small (size 7 ring) single foot guides are the most common seen for repairs. I thought it weird also.

They are on Berkely, Pinnacle, and I think now the new Fenwick rods. All of whom are owned by Berkley. metal frame, thin, looks like metal insert. I did get some black "sets" from Bingham but they don't sell singles.
Recently getting a LOT of repairs for these rods and I need to but a supply of single foot, and double foot in both black and chrome sizes along with matching tip tops.
