Andy,
What instructional DVD? Does the DVD just cover Threadmaster products or something else? Really like your lathe DVD.

Was asked to build a youth rod and reel combo using the De Walt tools, Kenseth racing yellow and black for a young racing fan angler. My usual procedure for this type of rod and reel is to take a Zebco 33 reel (Chrome hardware) scuff up the housing, primer it, and paint it using model spray paint. A couple of clear coats on the reel and then match the thread to the reel housing. I use black prefo

Help me out with the name of this place.... I am trying to tell a 1st time attendee the name of this eatery.
You walk out the front door of the Raddisson. You are on south main street. You turn right and take that road and on that stretch of road before you would turn right to get back to the airport (Greensboro) there is a BBQ joint on the right. Anyone know the name of it? Any other places to

610. Re: Pink EVA Grips
Ron,
If you can't find the full foam block pink that you want have you ever considered pink poke a dots. They turn out really nice and you can use black grips with the light pink that Billy was talking about for the dot inlays. Buy some "pink panther" model paint (spray) which matches the pink inlays and spray the reel pink with some clear coat and it really matches nice.

I bought this book last year and love it. This was the first decorative wrapping book that I was able to understand and put to use right away. The "set up" section and other tips in this book greatly improved my decorative wrapping skills. The book is set up to lay flat so you can reference the particular pattern you are working on, while you are working on it. Great book. Buy it.

I am looking for a "pipe style" reel seat for some spin rods. I see that Batson has them in 16 mm.
I have not used these before so I don't know how the OD of the reel seat compares to the OD of a standard 16mm (ID) spin reel seat. I do know that some anglers like the larger grip of the OD of the 17mm standard reel seats. So my questions is............. for those of you that have wor

Billy that would be a great idea. The vendor will have a lot more detailed information about their product than I will ever put down in my notebook.
The more I know about an item the better I feel when I go to purchase it.

Went to my first expo last year. Am going again this year. I took along a large notebook and was glad I did. Between all the new products to paw and the seminars going all day the amount and quality of information, it was unbelievable. New blank model numbers, email addresses from new suppliers and fellow rod builders, specific techniques learned at the seminars, wow, it was great. I filed my no

I assume that cork rings are made from a section of cork that is cut into specific lengths by a machine. What I would like to know is what causes the divits (sp?), uneven cork faces, dents in the cork face that keeps two cork ring faces from fitting tightly against each other whan clamped and epoxied side by side on a blank during the early stages of building a grip?
I guess what I am asking i

Is this year's exhibitor WOOD CRAFT or PACKARD WOOD TURNING the same exhibitor that we had last year that was having the great prices on Jet lathes? If so I hope they bring a bunch more lathes with them as I will be picking one up if they are even close to last year's prices.

Alex,
Bring a BIG notebook for the seminars. There is so much information and so many interesting seminars that it will be hard to keep track of all the info. Oh, and the vendors and the seminar speakers that are happy to take the time to answer your questions one on one is very, very cool.

I will be there for just a couple of days getting my daughter married and would like to do something fishing related. If any builders on the island would like to show me some of the rods they build for island fishing I would appreciate it.
I'll buy the beverages and shaved ice!
