Try to get some more info from her. River fishing from a private pier, surf fishing with a sand spike, etc? What size reel? Can she transport a 7 or 8' rod, or should it be a 2 pc? I bet she's been fishing with someone and wants her own rod.

That was 3 or 4 months ago, and I don't remember the question/answer, but I think the answer was Fuji. Going to try the PB701MLF. Thanks!

If you're determined to use white, I'd recommend the Fuji ultra poly "A" NOCP packed tight/bunished followed by 2 coats of CP

I guess it depends on what components you ordered. I'm still patiently waiting on some BKTAG guides I ordered 1/23/16....got the rest of my order just fine.

Jay, you must be referring to their metallic poly, which I haven't tried. I do like their ultra poly and NOCP poly, alot. I've yet to find another NOCP white that is equal to theirs.

I use steel mandrels similar to these: the live center fits the 60 taper.

If the epoxy hardener for guides has already heavily yellowed, I'd get a new 2 bottle set, only because of the color over light threads/white blanks

The MB764 was this in their built rods, according to my old info from Bill Stevens: Castaway XP3 Series Heavy Action 7' 6" Line Wt 12-20 lbs Lure Weight 1/4-1 oz (Model CD76-X) "Workhorse"

I use alot of 1 1/2" x 1 1/2" acrylic in my grips. I made a jig to hold the squares while using a hole saw in a drill press that also includes a 1/4" hole.. I then use the Flexcoat pilot bits to enlarge the hole. I'm limited to how deep I can plunge the pilot bit by the travel of my drill press. Unhide your email addy, and I'll send some pics, if interested.

You might ck with Billy V (NERBs), as said above, OR Lance Dupre at Swampland Tackle for the gloss black PTS seat from Matagi...they both had em this last spring.

Why not just order one or a set from Mudhole? I'm still using my set from Andy Dear (Lamar).

1) I mostly use an 80 thread loom, but do weaves that require 50-60 threads...I use dot stickys on the plastic base to renumber the slots, in order to have pretty close to the same # of threads top and bottom. 2) If you think they're too small, try a larger pattern. Send me your email, and I'll send a link to a PDF w/ alphabet using ~14-16 threads

Most, if not all, UV cured materials have a thin O2 inhibited layer that never really sets. Wipe it w/ DNA is the easiest answer.. The other way is to cover it w/ something like glycerin, prior to curing., and then wash it off. This from a DDS, tho not familiar w/ "loon knot sense".

I agree w/ Michael, great post, Bill! Your last paragraph got me to wondering if you are aware of the Breakaway Cannon...I have one zip-tied to my surf rod, but it could be incorporated in a custom build. NO more taped or sore/sliced index fingers w/ braid.

Spinning or baitcast? Maybe contact OTI...I can't remember the guys name, they used to be near me, but have relocated to Corpus Christi. For a spin popper, looks like he's using the KW guides?

You could always order some of the PacBay arbors, glue, and sleeve them. Probably more dense than 6 lb, tho. I've used them

You could order a CTS blank through Herb, if you choose to go forward w/ this customer. Sounds like he might be REAL particular...Would make me a little gun-shy, but at the same time, feel challenged.
