I would think the guys at Custom Fly Grips could fix you up, if you're not keen on buying the jig and DIY.

Travis, if you have any trouble recessing for the penny in the existing butt, let me know and I'll send you 1/8" and 1/4" rubberized rings that could be added to it.

Why not inlet a 1/4" rubberized disc and add that to the squared off butt? Use a dremel to shape after glued on

You weren't stepping on toes, Bill! Years ago, Bill Stevens expressed concern w/ the "salts" in the Sharpie ink, and it's affect on SS guides, once ground/shaped. Fact or fiction, I don't know....? Thanks for the tip on Marks A Lot!

Saw the deleted link this morning...can't imagine why someone would devote that much time to crapola, unless they were really sick! Sorry, Tom, but apparently there are sickos in every hobby/profession. I hate to think more than one was involved in this...!

What's the downside to using the thick-walled Sched 40 PVC grey conduit?

Don't know what your line rating/lure rating requirements are, but Batson has some 3 and 4 pc travel blanks. I know St Croix used to make a 3 or 4 pc m-light popping spinner, but can't find the blank

Mike B...I'm just guessing Permagloss based on "crystal clear and hard". I can see where you'd want to use the same as previous on the replacement upper section. Follow Mike D's advice. I haven't bought any new supply in awhile, but I think they have improved the storage w/ a new cap. You might even want to do a search on here for previous Permagloss posts...it's way different than 2 pa

We all like "light", but the end user needs to consider the weight of the reel that he will eventually hang on it...the heaviest component of all.

Wow, a rod for flounder, as well as a 100lb fish...does he play golf with just a 5 iron? Best of luck making him happy

Have not fished there, but I did build a spinner several yrs ago to use in Costa Rica for casting lures back to teased up sails, as well as to feeding frenzy tuna. I used a Calstar grafighter 700ML. It was sweet for what I was doing.

After looking at pictures of some of the under spins, I can see the need for a spin stripping guide. Will probably just use the inexpensive airwaves. Thanks, Gary

My son asked me to start thinking about making his oldest daughter an UL rod for one of the underspin reels. Is there any reason to use spin guides? I know the traditional on top spincast reels that I've seen are on baitcast rods.

Popping blanks are very popular on the Tx coast. I don't see any Rainshadow 2 pc, but Mudhole has both the P843 and the P903 in 2 pc. A 3000 size Shimano is same size as the 2500, but more line capacity, which you sometimes need w/ reds on 10-12 lb line.
