I am fishing from the bank ,just in salt water with artificial with long spinning rods built by me on fly blanks,or with some fly rods(SAGE RPLX, G.LOOMIS IMX) change by me in spinning rods.
I am disable(problems with my leg),i don't have boat or kayak and i am fishing with braid(FIRELINE ORIGINAL SMOKE 4lb.,SPIDERWIRE ULTRACAST 6 lb.,8 lb. ,10 lb.,TASLAN ALL WHITE 8 lb.,15 lb.)+fluorocarbon lea

I use this SIC match model "M" guides to build many long spinning rods(over 10' )on fly blanks +extension.For one 10'4"(3,17 m.) spinning rod build by me on ALL STAR AUSTIN 9' W10 +extension ( HELIUM LTA from KISTLER )i was using just 6 guides and the rod work very fine with 6 guides.The weight of this rod is 5,1 oz..( 145 g.).

I was building many long spinning rods on fly blanks using MATCH SIC guides model "M" and for about 10 years i don't have problem catching and 23 lb. red fish,black drum in salt water and 15 lb. buffalo carp,15 lb.flat-head catfish etc. in fresh water.

I was SHIMANO fan but because my SHIMANO STRADIC 4000(made in Japan) after one sezon in salt water(before i was fishing just in fresh water) start to don't work right ,i sold the reel and for over 10 years i am fishing just with DAIWA WHISKER SS TOURNAMENT 700,1300,1600.

I can tell you the ALL STAR AUSTIN fly blank are very good blanks.And i can tell you this because i built some spinning rod using ALL STAR AUSTIN (TITANIUM) fly blank (w4,w5,w10) and i am very happy with this rods.Very sensitive and powerful rods.I live in Houston and i was buying this blank at ALL STAR COMPANY before the SHAKESPEARE bought this company and destroy the rod quality built now in Ch

I was building some crappie and white bass rod on fly blank ALL STAR AUSTIN(TITANIUM)9' W4, W5 using MATCH guides model "M".

For 10 yeas i was fishing SPIDERWIRE ULTRACAST 6 lb.,8 lb.,10 lb.and i can tel you is very good braid .For the same lb. test is tinnier conparative with POWER PRO,SUFIX 832 and if you fish with spinning reel you can cast long distance.

For 10 years i was fishing from the bank in salt water at ROLLOVER PASS with long spinning rods(over 10' ) built by me on fly blank ALL STAR AUSTIN w 10,or i was changing some fly rods(SAGE RPLX W 10,W 11,W 12, G.LOOMIS IMX W 10,W 12/13).

I know this type of rods are for float fishing from the bank,but here in Texas,i am fishing from the bank on salt or fresh water with bolgnese rod with jigs and i can tell i was catching a lot of nice fish(white bass,flathead catfish,buffalo carp,speckled trout ,flounder,red fish, black drum, Spanish mackerel).

You don't find the blank for bolognese rod,but to build this type of rod you can use telescopic pole.With telescopic pole you fish without reel and guide,the line is tie from the tip of the rod.I was fishing about 25 years ago with 30' telescopic fishing pole in my ex-country .
If you put some guides ,reel seat on telescopic pole you have one bolognese rod.

I was building many spinning long rods(over 10') for myself for fishing for white bass, crappie and for salt water using fly blank 9' w4,w5,w10 +extension using SIC guides model "M". I like these rods.
