My wife had a little incident while I had a rod drying... The basement wont get above 62-63 degrees so I moved a rod upstairs to put on the dryer for a second coat. I moved a table into a corner and set it all up with the rod being a little longer than the table over the edge facing the corner. She tried to grab something under where it was drying, and after I asked her if she wanted me to do

Aleks- if you could provide CCS for some of the stuff you already produce I'd likely be buying more blanks. I'm very curious about the 736 in MB and SJ. presently for my own rods I need to reign in the spending and building, but I'm trying to get everybody I know that fishes an NFC blank and grips.

Why aren't you all using a spatula - especially Tom - after the article I bumped into by Ralph O'Quinn I'm surprised you're using a bristle brush. All of these issues would be resolved using a spatula, Ralph took it too an absolute perfectionist level, but I'm sure whatever spatula you get your hands on will help with all this

Glad to hear Aleks, obviously the 21st century welcomes it haha. I'm looking forward to what you have in store for the future here. Next you have to ask ChatGPT "how do I build a fishing rod" and share with the class

I love me a good cast and wiggle retrieve with a ned, definitely hooked into some nice fish that way. I just mean the commonly understood concept of a Ned rig is light weight small bait, make it a 1/4 oz and it just seems like it's a different technique- or maybe call it a Ned Sr. Like a Bubba shot as a bigger dropshot. When does a finesse jig become just a jig? Is a MOJO rig/splitshit rig re

I'm glad you're not a moderator here Daryl ;) I think this discussion was much worth having and I'm glad web could have it openly as a forum. It remained civil and hopefully the community can have more opportunities to discuss and grow and not just give feedback on blanks and layouts, but connect as people who are people. I'm with you on the nonsense being buffered, but I don't think this con

I'm not sure those big baits count as true Ned rig. Disregard the no true Scotsman fallacy, the common practice for "Ned Rig" seems like 1/15thoz is or less with a 3 inch plastic or less. Anything bigger or heavier us just some kind of finesse rig to whatever degree of weight you're using. @John your weights and distances are very helpful.

Daryl gets it, albeit I'm sure somewhere on page 773 there's something worth dissecting. Who is the third biggest component dealer?

@Chris that happens to all kinds of online entities, even banks and credit bureaus have had breeches. And like I said, they have a lot to offer to a massively larger audience, of course they are busy. Especially in areas where there aren't a lot of other options, but I bet many of those people pass by or maybe glance at some fishing stuff. They have stuff for kids, furniture, food, the one in my

@Mark, another well constructed comment by somebody who's been here a while - Much respect my friend, I hope you are heard. @Tom Bass pro sells $40,000 boats and $30 boots, guns, ammo, hiking, hunting, camping, candy, home decor, toys and that is just a very short list of what they offer - if we're talking fishing Tackle Warehouse absolutely holds their own against Basspro (I'd love to see str

Thanks for the run down Aleks, and certainly recognize the value of what you share about manufacturing (appreciate it) and that I have never seen a bit of info about what other manufacturers are doing - probably because they don't want to go to China and start filming in one of their factories, might land them in prison over there for it.

Yeah, last time I was comparing nfc blanks I realized how misleading the comparator was, definitely can't trust it. Dean, I would very much appreciate if you could share what X-ray blanks you've used and what you use them for and your thoughts on them. Please feel free to email me if you don't want to post it all here, if you wouldn't mind. I feel like I pretty much can't trust any of the

Whoever is running tackle warehouse already had a better idea than bass pro, there's a reason they get the nod by almost every single YouTuber and practically nobody mentions anything about bass pro ever. But thats not the point here. Mick, well said all around my friend, you've been here for quite some time and I hope you are heard well. Nobody here said you don't know what you're doing To

What are or where can I find some of these Emory H tests and concepts? I've bumped into a few of his posts on here before. Spencer, what is your process for guide layout and determining size and amount etc?

I hear you Chris, but this forum is still lagging significantly behind Reddit. Reddit still has better organization which is huge (categories that have subcategories and sometimes subcategories under those), a more accurate search function, the ability to PM and not use personal emails, and the fact that Reddit is an absolute catch all for all your favorite activities and interests makes the form

I don't bother using the app unless I need to post a pic, it's unstable and crashes if I type more than 2-3 sentences. Also no dark node and you're right about the organization- clunky. I'm not sure of the app coding and how it all works with the obsolete coding on the forum but I think it would make the most sense to put money into just figuring out a way to save all the history on the forum

Supremely helpful Ken, much appreciated. Would you say there is a noticeable difference in feel/sensitivity/ quality between HM and X-ray? Or other blanks you would put on tier with x-ray and HM? You just revamped my excitement for these builds man!

Awesome thanks for the low down on those rods, so sweet spots for the 735s is 1/8 bullet weight and worm or 1/4 oz jignplastic and the 736 1/4 bullet and 3/8 jig? Would you say they're on the slower side of fast? Here's another wrench if you would be so kind to indulge me - could you compare THE X-RAY MB764?
