G'day,
VisualWRAP is Cross Wrap Design Software . I am often asked whether it will run on Windows 10. The answer is "Yes, with some tweaks".
VisualWRAP runs on all versions of Windows. Anything later than XP will require some tweaks, and these are described on the following page:
You can apply these tweaks yourself, or if you prefer you can contact myself and I can assist rem

I am sure the rumour is going to be substantiated big time :-)
Best of luck with this year's show Tom. You do such a fantastic job in pulling it together that it's easy to take these things for granted. I have made so many friends and great memories by attending that I'm itching to get back. I hope the shows continue so I can scratch that itch!
Cheers

G'day!
To celebrate the 2018 Expo I am very pleased to announce the launch of the brand new VisualWRAP Script Shop. We have compiled over 600 VisualWRAP scripts into 4 Pattern Packs and made these available for purchase and download from the ThreadCentral website.
While the standard VisualWRAP pattern library (containing over 100 patterns) will remain available as a free download from Threa

Hi Gil,
VisuaWRAP assumes you know already the basics about cross wrapping, eg how to set up your blank, use tape to hold threads in place, tying off, etc. Once you have those skills down and have probably completed a couple of wraps that's where VisualWRAP becomes useful. It shows you how cross wrap patterns develop thread-by-thread, using existing patterns from a library or new patterns you

G'day,
Sorry for the late reply, both VisualWRAP and VisualWEAVE will work on all versions of Windows, but VisualWRAP just needs some help in the form of some tweaks.
If you have any questions on either package or need assistance with getting either installed then just drop me a line.

X2.54 to what others have said (fraction due to the fact we use metric Down Under).
I've received helpful advice from Roger on several occasions and he went out of his way to provide it. I really appreciated it.
Thank you Roger!

Hi Phil,
It would be a good project but I don't have plans in that direction. A compromise could be to run a windows emulator on the Mac and then run vizwrap on the emulator.

In support of all the comments above, I am happy to assist with getting vizwrap installed onto any Windows platform.
The required tweaks are described here:
If you install TeamViewer software on your machine (www.teamviewer.com) then I can log into your machine and make the tweaks on your behalf.
Just to clarify, the tweaks are needed for VisualWRAP only. The VisualWEAVE software will

Hi,
I'm looking to build a gift rod for friends in Utah who fish Bear Lake using a downrigger. I've seen some photos of the rod they use: it's a St Croix WRKC76LM2 Lite Power, Moderate Action 1/16-3/8 4-10lb
Can anyone suggest any multi-piece blanks that might suit?
I've not used a downrigger. Anything I should be aware of when building the rod?
Any advice welcome. Thanks in advance.

Hi Paul,
John hit the nail on the head. I'm happy to help get it installed and give any advice on using vizwrap. It has a learning curve but is simple once you grasp the concepts. It is a useful tool that helps you visualise how wraps form, how they will look on your rod, and can give you the spacings for laying out your wraps.
Cheers

Hi Scott,
Vizweave will take an image (jpeg is fine) and pixelate it (turn it into a grid). The number of colours in the final image will depend on the number of colours in the original image and the number of colours you have selected in your colour palette. Best results are achieved when you limit colours, both in the image and in your palette. Rhis reduces how much grid editing is needed.

There is an inexpensive app called WinOnX that lets you run many Windows programs on a Mac. I know that some people use that to run vizwrap. There are other full-blown emulators available too however I haven't had any experience with them.
You can drop me an email if you'd like to go down that path, or need assistance installing onto Windows.

Hi Tristan,
Vizwrap will run on any Windows system with some tweaks. I offer assistance to do this.
Vizweave installs fine as-is, without tweaks.
No immediate plans to update or build a MAC version. I'd like to but the time required is something I don't have. And then there is the risk (likelihood) that once it's updated Microsoft will make changes to Windows again, requiring further softw

Hi John,
Leave it alone! :-)
The tweaks are for when vizwrap installs but doesn't run. The tweaks don't add any new features.
