122. Re: Damaged USPS Rod
Good luck with the usps. Mudhole sent a back order usps on 11/27 and it’s still sitting at the original center. Hasn’t moved at all. Can’t get ahold of anyone and mudhole won’t do anything until 10 business days, then you wait more....
As far as proof of cost, have someone notarize a document showing agreed upon cost. Not sure if that would work but it might help.

124. Feather inlay
Anyone have a link of a good tutorial for a feather inlay? Didn’t see much on the internet when I did a search and I am wanting to try one. Got some good information off this site but would like to actually see the process done if there is something out there.
Thanks
Dave

125. Guide feet
Is there a way to not have the guide feet show through the wrap when not using color preserver on a medium light thread? I was using a medium blue color nylon thread and I didn’t like the results of seeing the guide foot. I applied flex count color preserver and this solved the issue, but am not a fan of using it.
Thanks
Dave

126. Re: Thread
I like the look without the cp but I don’t like to see the guide foot under the thread. Any way around this without using cp or a very dark thread? Been using medium/medium light blue nylon thread.
Thanks
Dave.

I’m using tip top glue but this just seems a little easier. However, it sounds like I just need to stick with what is working

That would be the reason I got no results. Thanks everyone!

132. Re: Crooked blank
Sorry, I did do a search with key word crooked and found nothing.
For all others that replied quickly, thank you. I want to make it right so I will let the customer decide.

133. Crooked blank
I bought a blank, spined it and have the handle on it. I happened to look down the blank from the handle side and noticed it is crooked starting about 20” from the tip. Should I be concerned about this? Not sure how to get the guides lined up? And, the first this a customer usually does is look down the blank to see how the guides look.
Not sure how to post a picture on here to show it but i

134. Re: Thread
Thank you all for the replies! I will most likely stay with the regular nylon thread and use cp when needed.
Thank you again.

135. Thread
Anyone have any issues using prowrap colorfast or Fuji nocp thread? I have been using the regular nylon thread and putting Flexcoat color preserver on it to retain the true thread color. With the nocp threads out there, I am thinking maybe I can eliminate the flexcoat step?
Thanks,
Dave

Is a 10, 8, 6 guide size to big for a 6’6” casting rod. Seems like a 8,6,5 would be better?

Looking at mudhole’s colored casting guides in red. Anyone have any experience with these? Any good or should I stay away from them? Fresh water bass fishing.

141. Decorative wrap
Going to do a decorative wrap and this time I want to “hide” the two ends between the split grip handles to make it look like it is flowing out of the handles. I plan to use color preserver. Is that enough to lock the tread down so I can safely slide the Handle over it, or should I use a light coat of thread finish on it as well?
Thanks in advance
