If you’re going to get into the world of decorative wraps I’d recommend Billy Vivona’s book “Decorative Wraps” - covers the fundamentals and foundations and info / patterns for more complex wraps. A chevron is the most basic - just crossing of threads on one direction down the blank. What wi make this a bit more complex is the need to space it so it “closes” - where he threads you’re wrapping

I’m assuming you want to mimic something like this? I would do this as a multi-axis chevron wrapped in bands of thread. To get the best effect you’d need to do at least 8, but most likely more axis which would be a bit challenging to keep up with when wrapping - but you’re also likely to only be doing a couple colors and wrapping in bands. By wrapping in bands I mean wrapping multiple threads

I love the look of some white wraps in a dec-wrap or guide-wrap - but its knowing it will turn dingy yellow before long that gets me and I do my best to avoid it. I've had a few customers demand white so I warm them well upfront what will happen. As to using white - I've found the best luck with Fuji NOCP size A - and pack, pack and pack it some more....

TiOn is NOT titanium - it is a coating (vapor deposited based I think) - but I know for sure from my titanium anodizing work that at least the "stripper" guide is NOT titanium - in fact in their materials they state somewhere it is 316 stainless...

I run it horizontal all the time in my Rail Wrapper carriage (Al Engling). I did get the cone adapters which “arbor up” the cone’s lower end to fit nicely in the threaded rod of the carriage. Depending on which side of the carriage I had the spool on it will feed over or under - or left or right. Works fine either way

my experience is to keep the metallic out of the "button" tensioners. Also points made as well on how much to handle it, etc... I have found Hitena metallics to be the best I've worked with across several brands...

I foresee no such certificates in the future as NFC will deem it not worth the hassle from rod builders……

So this far we have recommendations for size 20 stripper, a size 12 stripper and a size 8 stripper - anyone want to go for a 6 stripper - lol Would help to know the reel in question (and confirm if we’re talking spinning or casting)….

The chrome silver is very nice in my option - more of a reflective silver like the gold is. Happy with it and actually need to call and order some more :)

I’ve seen where they are sending out replacement variable speed pedals that are like the ones used with the Alps / PacBay wrappers and with a 12’ cord to replace the 6’ cord / on/off pedal they originally included

Is the blank an unsanded blank? If so I think you’ll have to apply epoxy to get suitable surface for the decal

Fuji and SeaGuide are the only ones I am aware of offering titanium tip-tops, and then only the frame is titanium / the tube is stainless steel with the two materials welded in some fashion. Fuji offers the MN and KG (Arowana) tip-top in titanium in both SiC and Torzite

I like the disclaimer…. “ Please note, this Airrus fishing rod is a technical instrument assembled with H.M. carbon fiber and it is not recommended for novice anglers.” Ie - pleas no high sticking - this isn’t a UglyStik

Your time has value. The art has value. Don’t undermine that. If you’re looking to provide affordable custom rods then use techniques that distinguish the rod as custom but don’t take a lot of time…. But certainly don’t spend the hours required on a custom closed wrap and sell it for fractions of what it should be

Other options at your disposal - tiger wrap - fade wrap Or dive on in other closed wraps. You’ve done a spider so you’re on your way. Do a Maze, or a StJohns. The single fish wrap is quite easy as is an American flag. Plenty of options

Is that a single or double foot guide? If double bend the foot downward a bit. If a single foot then just wrap it. You can use a dremel or file for a little shaping of needed though it looks like you’ve already done so

I’ll typically take about 3/8” or so off the threaded barrel on Alps TexTouch/MVT seats to shorten them down. I’ll just run them across the bandsaw being sure to hold the seat parallel - typically I’ll just keep the end of the seat tight to the fence and push through the blade since there is not real “flat” section of the seat. Then I’ll place the seat upside down and sand it in a piece of 120

I assume you’re talking about the silicon tubing Mudhole sells that you cut small pieces to hold your guides while wrapping. Hard to say which size you need as blanks vary so much as I often use one size for the first few guides closest to the reel seat and the nest smaller towards the tip. Sometimes I’ll use 3 sizes even.

Patience and perhaps a little less tension on your overwrap. I did a few dragonscales with some thread that was a bit larger than D for the base and then a metallic which was a little thinner than A and it was a challenge - had to take it slow and pack it very tight as I went
