Donald , that isn't my static test it's the way I line up the guides . I do see how it looks like one tho . When I get them all lined up I go back and do it the right way .
Thanks for spotting a possible a potentially bad test tho .

Tom I left one guide off because it fell on a joint . It actually has 7 guides now . I just took it out and casted it but with 4wt windcutter line
and it's windy but was able to lay out 45 ft pretty easily with it . I cant get any more distance as my yard isn't big enough .
I built a 4pc 4wt glass not long ago and it has 9 guides . Would I be better lay this 3pc up like the 4pc and go from

I used Thread Master lite on one fly rod grip . Looks good , tough and not slippery . To clarify , this was a 40 yr old flyrod that the cork was starting to crack and I wanted to keep the soil , dirt etc for nostalgia purposes . I still fish it now and then .

For fiberglass fly rods . I'm looking for a black skeletonized reel seat with a nice orange ish color insert aluminum or wood with an id of 0.55 or so . I'd rather not use a stint as it makes the rod about 4" longer and it wont fit the case I bought for it . I know I can cut it but I dont want to do that either . As always , TIA !

I've been seeing a lot of these around in metal but recently I see where Kastking has a 9' 5wt and a 9' 8 wt graphites. Has anyone had any experience with telescoping fly rods ? Not Tenkara but real rods .

I bought a nice little add on that works with the CRB hand wrapper . Attach it with 2 small bolts and it's done.
